Hi,

Does anyone have some cool rapture presets? Or knows where to get some?

I really like this synth but i hate the presets that are included and since i am not a good sound engineer myself i seek some help this way!
Lindo
my suggestion is fiddle around and learn yourself. It's a wavetable synthesizer so test it out. That's what they're there for.
kabarka
you think i dont do that? offcourse i do :)

I'm just curious (spelling?) to hear what other poeple can pull off with this synth..

Looks interesting. Think I'll download the demo. I'm no sound programmer though, that's for sure.

Oh alright then. I'll post some cool effects I started to make with this machine. It works pretty much like the maelstrom to tell you the truth if you have any experience with that. I'll upload some stuff in a few, but I think I'm heading to sleep first.
kabarka
nope, i have no experiance with maelstrom but it would be very nice of you to post some.. :) and maybe a copple of fat leads? Like a supersaw :happy2:

I have Rapture and I can tell you that I really like it. As I'm new to all of this stuff, I had to reverse engineer many of the presets to figure out how to make my own. Once you figure it out, its great! It has about 500 or so presets that I think are great, but I'm a tinkerer and like to make my own as well.

I posted some Rapture sounds I made in another post HERE

I suggest you go to the Cakewalk Instrument forums if you have any specific questions. The users there are extremely helpful. Rene (don't know last name) is the guy who developed Rapture. He's the same guy that made Z3ta. He answers question in the Instrument forum all the time. Cakewalk's customer service is superb!

I more impressed by Z3ta actually. Rapture is good and all, some nice sounds, I see it as another usefull tool. Needs more presets though, that's not enough for me. I mean I didn't find many sounds that I would want to use. It sure isn't user friendly when it comes to tweaking though. I hate Drag and drop function for setting the attack and release. I can't even figure out where everything else is, like filters and LFO. Even Z3ta is easier to tweak, and I still don't fully understand it!

I'm sorry you feel that way. I agree with you regarding the presets, but if you are a tweaker, then it is definitely a great tool. You can do just about anything you want with it. I mean up to 48 LFOs for one patch? There is a wow factor in there somewhere :D If you have it, I suggest you reverse engineer some of the presets you like to figure out how it is done. Then, you can apply what you learned to your very own patches. If you are a preset person (nothing wrong with that at all), then it may not be the tool for you. However, as it gains in popularity, the programs are easily exchanged as they are very small.

As a matter of fact, I can send you my programs I have created thus far. PM me your email, and I will send them to you. This is, of course, assuming you do indeed have Rapture.

I have the Rapture demo, not sure if it will let me load up your programs, I assume it will though. Yeah, I'd like to check them out, I'll PM you.

I'm a preset tweaker, I just haven't put much time into sound creation. Besides that, it seems to take a special talent and understanding to be able to create good sounds. I appreciate all the user programs out there, I've downloaded a ton of them.
