Advice for some Ottawans...

So some buddies and I are planning on coming down to montreal for the weekend from Ottawa obviously. We've came to Montreal a couple of times for some afterhours events in the past months but this time we'd like to try something a little different. We'll be arriving on saturday at aroung noon so we'll be hanging out for the day then visit a club or two in the evening. So I was wondering if anyone would have any suggestions as to which spots you would recommend that are non-afterhours... oh and by the way, PLEASE dont revert me to the MTL visitors page, i'd like to see everyone opinion on this one!

Much Appreciated,

Hisham...

a lot of those clubs have since closed...

it depends what you like to do.

If you want high-end stuff, check out Rosalie's, Time, Myst, Buona Notte, Med, Globe. Expensive, snobby even, older crowd, can find some good house music if you're lucky.

You want decent clubbing with no kiddies, go to Rouge, Tokyo, Central Station, Upperclub (might be dead), 737 (which would be sick on a nice hot night atop Place Ville Marie; biggest skyscraper in MTL). These are your average clubs, with a mix of commercial house and hiphop stuff (overall).

If you want the kiddies and garbage music, go to Systems, Vatican, Orchid, Jet. Actually, you know what, DON'T go to these ones, it's just NOT worth it.

Im actually looking to hear a mix of both. Some guys im going with arent really into the EDM scene so I kinda wanna find something to their taste as well so they wont nag at me all night. Im also not looking for the posh places but no kiddies as well lol. Pretty much your average club lol... Someone had suggested Living, what do you guys and gals think??

Tokyo has a SICK terrace, so if it's nice out, you should definitely consider that. Plus they have two rooms with different styles (though the house room is ALWAYS dead).
Living is good too, smaller though, not too sure about the crowd.
Central Station is right across the street from Living and it plays a mix of house and hiphop.

So if Living sucks, go to Central across the street. Can't go wrong.

And start your night at St-Sulpice, sickest terrace in Montreal. (Ste-Elizabeth is second).

thanks for the advice brotha! lol... seems like theres alot of choice in Montreal unlike Ottawa. I just hope Living doesnt have a 35 to 30 year old crowd like I hear...
