Wanting New Job

it has come to my attention in recent weeks that my job is not as easy as i once thought it was. suddenly i am attending meetings, i actually have responsibilities and people get annoyed when i take sickies or decide to come in late for no other apparent reason than wanting to sleep in.
these are things i do not want in a job, i want a job with as little to no responsibility as possible, preferably with access to the internet with a high speed connection so i can download music and talk in forums and little to no contact with the general public.
now i thought that this was not too much to ask, but after attending a number of job interviews and outlining my requirements to my prospective employers i have been shocked to find that not many jobs are suited to my needs or not many companies want someone with my needs. so if anyone knows of a job going like this can you point me in the right direction. one other thing i refuse to do manual labour or anything remotely involving physical work in fact sitting infront of a computer is about as much physical exertion as i can take, but i guess you already figured that out from my other requirements. |

yah, but then if you really do no work you get no money!
Dear Teflon_Teapot,
It sounds as though you would be suited to a receptionist position at a company with few incoming calls.
I would recommend any 'start up' company that are in the beginnings of trying to establish a client base. It may be possible to negotiate a 9am start into your contract on this basis, though I doubt many companies will find it acceptable for the receptionist to arrive at work much later than this, regardless of whether many incoming calls are expected or not. I would suggest you mention your 'young son that needs to be dropped at school at 9am' if a sleep in is an absolute requirement; this may extend your start time to 9.30 or potentially even 10am.
You may find it necessary to change jobs every 6 - 12 months once the client base grows and more frequent calls result. Having said this, if you are capable of multi-taskingyou I see no reason why cannot continue to post on forums, download music, and put calls through all at once (up to a certain point, phones can actually be quite confusing when there are 3 or more calls on hold... )
I have heard too, that legal secretaries have a rather decent income. Providing you can read, reference and write, this could be a good option.
Good luck with your chosen career path,
