It's been posted by a usually very reliable source that Spiro announced on Sunday it was the last EC? :(

Apparently the amount of red tape getting thrown at them every year has just got too much. I really hope it's not true, but it sounds like it might be :(

dean i would not be surprised if that story is atleast partly true, spiro was pretty pissed off and alot of artists were pissed off with him in turn. there were big issues with payment and treatment of artists. spiro had alot of dramas as well, in the lead up and during the event. although instead of it being cancelled he might scale it down because compared to previous times i have been it was not as packed and apparently numbers were well down last year as well.

they need less stages in my opinion, its all well and good to have heaps of dj's and performers but the bottom line is that if you dont have the numbers the stages are empty and even if you do have the numbers everyone just flocks to the hydra stage. i reckon they should have three main stages (main stage, hydra and the market) and then have a vip room. that is enough and you can get good variety as well. i also think that they should make the hydra stage the main stage and have all the 140+ bpm artists there, and call the main stage something else and make it a more psygressive/progressive stage to give some variety. it pissed me off on saturday night that everywhere except the market was playing really hard.

Yes he did say this, we camped basically right across from the main stage and heard this loud and clear.

I should pay more attention to TA...

j'00'f - banging trancey psy completely as expected, was the one of the few people who dj'd who could mix. Nice solid effort.
Chicago and rajah - old dudes made me laugh, dancing round main stage with inflatable guitars ad only bothering every now and then to pretend they werent playing a prerecorded set. Great entertainment.

Absolutely agree. I thought J00F was tops (although I was most gone when he was on, so I would've loved anything he played at this stage).

Raja Ram was pretty cool too. I wasn't really in a solid dancing mood when he was on (which was a shame, because he was playing some killer stuff) but I was loving his antics on stage. I kept thinking to myself "Ahh Raja Ram... what a nut bag, but that's why everyone loves him". Wasn't aware he was playing a pre recorded set though. Then again, I didn't get up close to look either.

I reckon Hydra stage was definitely where it was at. It was pretty much the only place I wanted to be anyway. Protoculture's live set on Sunday 8am was damn good too. Awesome hearing those album tunes out and about. Plus the temperature was quite nice at that time, which worked out well.

ing oath.
Everytime I walked past there throughout the night, it was absolutely packed and rocking. Then we were sitting in the shade behind everyone on Sunday morning and it was still ing chockers and just really awesome, heh.

I was surprised how cool it was on Sunday morning if you went back into the trees enough. It was getting quite toasty out there as well, but so long as you sat in any sort of shadow, you cooled down heaps.

Dancing in dirt is fun, but man, my boogers were black when I cleaned out my nose after getting home :p
