Drum Circles have been popping up everywhere as of late.....

beating out the Rhythm in time to the music - such a primal instinct in form of human expression - I know Feems and Penny have been involved in this tap tap tapping of the drums - has anyone else tryed this out? - I am thinking of acquiring a drum (antique from my father) and giving this go.....lord knows I gots timing/rhythm - do you feel the drums?

AND THE BEAT GOES BOOM BOOM!

:)

Drum circles are great when you are in the wild drinking beer by the campfire :)

I'm addicted to drums.

Anybody who loves traditional drumming totally missed out 2 weeks ago. There was a festival called the Muhtadi International Drum Festival at Queen's Park. I saw massive drum ensembles from all over the world banging DIRTY DIRTY TRIBAL BEATS. God Damn I was standing in the pouring rain not willing to go anywhere. SO GOOD!

If anyone is interested in a similar event (won't be exclusively drumming) check out AFROFEST (www.musicafrica.org) at Queen's Park July 8th and 9th. Mention Tranceaddict at the beer tent and get a free beer. - from me! ;)

For sure...
but they are not great in a club - especially when the drummers are right next to the DJ because the beat of the drum is always slightly off and makes it extremely difficult to mix.

The coolest tribal drumming I've seen was at tam tam's on Mont Royal in Montreal. It's so random but it works so well.

When we went to BEB there were two guys with djembes and Niall and I and Penny were dancing and playing their drums! It was so much fun!

There's a drum circle every sunday morning at sunrise in High Park.
