exporting as 320 kbps should give a clear sound like it is before export..?

i`m using nuendo, and when i export a mp3 at 320kbps and 44000 or 48000khz it should give an exceptable sound, but it does not do that over here :-(
It gives a horrible sound, it`s totally degraded.
anyone got a solution for this ?
(i use onboard sound, but it must be able to do better then this, because it did before.) |

this one for example should be near a analog juno sound,
it`s sounds that way before exporting, but after it sounds just like a cheap sound that came free with a pack of butter. |

have you tried exporting it as a .wav then bringing it into a program such as sound forge or wavelab?
its probably something stupid. check everything before you export make sure nothings turned off.
i dont use nuendo so i cant really elaborate on that. |

I think it`s something with the asio driver, i can`t select it in
wavelab, because it`s simply not there.
(earlier when starting wavelab got some messages that the asiodrivers could not be loaded)
I`ve downloaded the latest asio driver at asio 4 all but when i select that one in wavelab, i hear nothing.
And when i select it in nuendo(almost the same as sx 3) it functions very well. and now the asio driver which nuendo first used doesn`t work anymore.
that`s not a problem (i think) because the other one works fine.
but still can`t export, or play back the sound the same as it is before export.
the sample sounds very phasy over here.

I dont think onboard soundcards have an asio driver? At least mine definitely doesnt.
ASIO will have no effect on playback quality. Its just a driver.
I have never used wavelab but check that wavelab's exporter settings are all configured properly. As in, not set to dither the output and set to render to the correct bitrate.
Render the result and import it back into wavelab and compare the 2 sounds. They should be peaking at exactly the same level. If they arent gain one of them up until they are.
The difference should be small and only really noticeable in the upper registers. If its something dramatic, as in totally different sounding, check that you are recording from the right channel.
Sometimes I would record my Virus from directly from a mixer channel and wonder why it sounds different when I'm monitoring it. Turned out a few times that I had effects running on the master bus and recording the virus channels directly, ignored everything on the master and hence made it sound different.
Other than that, I would need to hear the original wave to get a better idea of whats going on. |

it`s a little less phased now, acceptable, but only the fullness of the high tone isn`t that good. |

Haven't heard the clip, but I suspect one of these:
1. Bad mixing. Something clipping. Try exporting it as wav and see if it sound the same.
2. Bad encoder. Try exporting it as wav, then decoding it as mp3 with a different encoder (LameENC is probably the best there is). |
