well trance/uplifting is my kind of style and I'd normally never download anything like this mix. But I'm curious to hear what this stuff is all about, so I gave it a shot. I'm pretty pleased I must say, good job Myra.
Really love the track Jay-J & Mark Grant with Latrice - Love Is (Kaskade Mix).
Thanks for this one :) |

well it wasn't really so much of a "gig" as it was just playin' around on a Tuesday night while no one was there, heh. the only people that were there were the owner and bartender and a few randoms. Rob and i just went back to back for 3 hours, playing 3 tracks each, and i had soooo much fun! it was great to be able to play on club system and get comfortable with playing somewhere other than at my apartment, especially since i'll be opening for RJT and K-Jax on July 14th.
it'll be interesting to see what i can come up with for an opening set, since i'm playing from 8:00-9:30pm. this mix is a pretty good example of the kind of stuff i really want to play live, and it's what i usually spin when i'm playing at home, but i don't wanna bang it out that early in the night, so i'll probably spin a much deeper proggier set that evening.
thank you everyone for the listen and all the comments! i am glad you all enjoy it! :D |

I'm impressed!!
Very light, airy, tropicana'ish with a very uplifting feel, but I was brought down by the heaviness of the Sara Jorge track, and after taking a second listen, thought the opener was a bit jarring/rigid to only be followed by soulful house.
Your track selection took me by surprise... latin house?! from a MWTA?! WHAT! Very nice :p Of course the highlight for me was the Moto Blanco remix. Gawd I love it! I was hooked there, you had me. So I turned up the volume some more, preceeding into the next track, only to be swept away by ANOTHER track with a hot latin, piano twinge.Excellent closer! I was really feeling it... You've got the sax, drums & piano. All that was missed was the water, sun, mojitos, sand, beautiful bodies & palms. This will suffice in the meantime :toocool: Those people of Wisco should be so lucky to have someone come in with diverse, international grooves...
Good luck! |
