Too late now. At the time, it was a good little earner for the French (and British who I believe supplied some of the nuclear material) while the Americans tried to stop it (or at least made it clear they did not want it to happen)
I suspect exactly the same is happening now regarding Iran. To whoever is supplying the reactors and material, it's a good little earner, while America (again ironically eh?) is trying to stop it
As soon as a country developes nuclear weapons thats it, too late |

America tries to stop others from getting nukes when we hold 1/3 of the global nuclear stockpile. I don't understand why we don't destroy our whole stockpile to make an example of ourselves! :conf:

its ok for israel and the US to have a vast menu of nuclear technology , but when any other country tries to do so ...... you know what happens ! |

And once the country has it, he is one of the safest country in the world; with nothing to worry' no fear of US invasion. Eg: India, Pakistan, North Korea, Israel. Once you have the nukes your country people live in peace. |

Unfortunately getting there is the hard part - especially if another state sees you acquiring nuclear weapons as a threat against them, and they are 10 times more powerful than you... |

Israel isn't a signee of the non-proliferation treaty.
As for Iran developing nukes. Its not the fact that a country aside from the USA is developing nukes, no one would care as much for instance if the Cayman Islands, Singapore, or Switzerland were developing a nuclear program. The problem is that Iran is developing the nuclear program. |

fine ,but there is a flipside to this issue , iran says the same thing , they dont mind if any other country has nukes in the area , but this is israel we are talking about here ..... |

Right, but Israel has the benifit of 30+ years of posing this capability without incident. Further, Israel has never decreed it wants to wipe off any nation or peoples off the map or into the sea. |
