so after seeing lawler in san diego, which just wet my appetite, i was so ready for lawler at avalon. i knew he was gonna get darker, deeper and sexy than his san diego set and i was definitely not disappointed!
i got to avalon with julie around 11 and had no problems getting in (thank you so much drew, you rock). ran right into tigo and then found the rest of the crew: julia, simon, bas, bunny, clovis, rich, gpc, leah, chris, bjorn and his girl, PIG and i'm sure a couple other people i'm forgetting. so great seeing everyone and partying with you guys as always.
john do and justin(who did a great job opening and closing, great tracks guys) were still on when i got there and it seems that sean miller was late getting there so once he got there his set was cut a bit short. sean was clean and solid just like friday night but i was anxiously waiting for lawler.
i was lucky enough to get on stage (again thank you so much drew, you made my year for music with that one!) so during sean's set steve shows up and hangs out on stage just chilling behind the dj booth. i'm a bit nervous to approach him and talk with him but i had to just tell him how amazing his sets are. so i head over and start talking to him and he was so nice and friendly! i told him that i often play his lights out 3 cd in my classroom and he had the biggest laugh about that. he was like no way. i also told him i was really looking forward to a dark, deep, dirty, sexy house set and he was like, well, you know that's what i do and then it was my turn to laugh. he was gracious enough to take a couple of pictures with me and then when i asked him if he would take one with a friend he was like sure and went down to the crowd to meet julia. he was really very nice. and yes michelle, he is shorter than me.
so now the most important part: the set! my God! he just came out swinging and just destroyed me and avalon! i don't think i have danced that hard in a long time. i was drenched in sweat but i couldn't stop. san diego, he didn't unleash like he did at avalon and i wish you guys coulda been there. there were moments when i just had to stop and watch his mixing, just unbelievably cool and effortless and just flawless. of course i can't id any tracks but the track that clovis was talking about with the phone dial tone, the hairs on my arms and back of my neck just stood up! and the bass! my God the bass! he would build some songs up that would just seem to go on forever and you kept waiting and then think, here it comes he has to and then he would move a little further into and then when you didn't think you could take it any more he drops it and it just explodes and avalon just loses it! i swear, it was a total eargasm!
lawler took me and the crowd on a wonderful, funky ride and he is just amazing. he is just cool like that, and i guess the best explaination i can give on how his music affects me is like that first cigarette after amazing sex.

so as you can see, i had a great time. so great to see desiree's sexy ass up on stage all night and as i've said before, it's so nice to see a dancer who truly enjoys the music and enjoys themselves.
nice to finish my night/morning chilling with tigo, rich and clovis and then off to bed for a short hour nap before i had to start my day. so after only 6 hours of sleep the whole weekend i was a bit brain dead last night. so glad i am off work now and could sleep in today.
so my weekend with lawler was just perfect and now i am looking forward to my weekend with jOOf! i'm a very lucky girl, my 2 favorites 2 weekends in a row with 2 nights in a row! life is good! |

| Wow....what a fun weekend! I know alot of people didnt enjoy Lawlers set this saturday (dont know why) but i had a blast. Lawler had loads of new goodies he unleashed on LA. His closing track still gives me goosebumps. Always fun hanging out with the regulars.....Clovis, Bas, Sarah, Rich, GPC, Bjorn, Julia, Simon, etc... See you guys at the next show :) |

| Good seeing everyone out. I thought that was one of Lawler's best sets, especially in LA. I can't ID too many tracks beyond what's already been mentioned. The slow builder he played near the end of his set was his edit of Pete Heller - Simpler. |

Oh yeah, I think Sean Miller played Agent 001 - Bubblebath though. I know the Basic boys dropped Gorillaz - Dare (Soulwax Mix). |

only worked for about 3 minutes of the song on mine and then it kept cutting out! man what a tease b/c i want that song |

the music player always sucks ass during peak hours. i had to go to war with the refresh button a few times before it would load for me |
