Yes. So here I sit, with a ing nice monster-track. It's also quite releasable, and I mean it. It had all that ing bass, and that lead that made you want to jump out of you skin.
What's more is, this was my first, yes FIRST, attempt on what I like to call real trance-music.
Then I saved it. Then the computer crashed... DURING THE SAVING TIME!!!!
It SUCKS!
So now I can't open it, the file is completetly, unsavably, corrupt!
I guess I learnt lots in the process of making the tune, so I'm not too angry about it.
here it is anyways, in its wholeness. The last export before the end of the world. Have fun with it.:

Please. Give me some feedback. (I know the shake is annoyingly sharp! Hey, I can't do anything about it.)
Here's an earlier export though, if you don't want the annoying shake. This is probably better anyways:

(I'm gonna kill someone)
P.S. I thought this was better of in this forum, rather than in the amatuer music producers forum. |

Fruity Loops ;P. This has never happened to me before though, not even once. Maybe you should try to update though, if it happens so often... |

i`ve got this authistic save behaviour, i almost save after every important change, only harddisc failure could make me lose some work.
(it`s almost time to backup again)
i`ll save every changed preset also, even write it down (there are no angel pictures here)
plan to do it also with all the notes i write.
i don`t like technical things realy, because there`s so much which can fail.
but to make it certain to keep your data, i`ll advise to write everything down, even make copies of it when it`s very good.
so in case of computer failure, you can go right back on track. |

happens, check if there's no autosave.
About the track:
I like the fx percussion, the other percussion sounds a little too basic if you ask me. Your kick has an annnoying -I've downloaded it from the internet- noise after it, it's clearly audible @ 1.30. I'm not quite a fan of the melody either, but hey that's subjective. I like complexer arrangement.
There are some good elements in there but it's not my kind of music. |

Hmmm I don't know about the releaseablity of this to be quite honest, a lot of random sounds in there I think. With released tracks, there are little random sounds, there has been thought about every little sound in a track.
On the other hand, the track has a lot of energy in it, very uplifting, although the kick is kinda cheap (like DeZma said).
I'm sure your project would be even better if you had been able to finish it. Don't worry, your next track will be great, I'm sure. |

Damn, I completely know how you must feel now.
I actually had the same problem a few weeks ago. Spent whole days of work on a new Epic Dark Trance track with lots of layers and stuff. The melody I composed was probably one of the best I ever did.. and then, I chose to add a new layer in z3ta, and then it decided to crash FL. And you know what? I never saved the project!! I always tend to forget that. So all of this track has gone, I cant seem to recreate the melody... I felt like crying :( ... and it was not the first time FL crashed and I hadnt anything saved.
FL itself with the built-in instruments doesnt crash often, it seems like the problem comes from external (VST/DX)Plugins or some kind of incompatibility. |

hey putboy... i've listened to part of your track.. it's pretty decent i'd say... but there's one thing which you could improve is to reduce the wideness of the whole mix... it sounds to me as if i'm listening to a track which is recorded outside of a club... erm.. melody wise, it's personal preference :) |

Sucks about the loss, but here's a handy hint that applies to ANY saving (I use theis with my Hardware smapler too).
1. Save your song / sequence / samples to FILENAME1
2. Next save do a save as to FILENAME2
next time you save save back as FILENAME1, rinse and repeat between the two files.
That way if something bad happens in a save you at least have a backup.
If your software supports autosaving turn it on and kepp at least 3 or 4 backups every 5 mins.
Not going to help you this time, but going forwards will pull your ass out of the fire is a similar thing happens.. |
