Refereeing in this WC

first, sorry for my english... I don't speak this language

I don't know what do you think of the refereeing during this WC2006. For me, it's VERY VERY VERY BAD !

Many teams are not favoured owing to the referees. 2 penalties were not granted to Togo against Switzerland today. Ivory Coast was not favoured either against the Netherland, many faults and penalties were not announced. France has today just 2 points because referees did not grant a penalty with an undisguised hand of Switzerland and yesterday Viera scored, the ball was inside but the referee didn't grant the goal...

Secondly, the faults. Yellow and red cards are distributed differently according to the referee. Why Zidane has taken a yellow card because he has played a free kick quickly ? We saw this in many matches but only Zidane has taken a yellow card. The bad takles are sanctionned differently also according to the referee.

Your opinions ...

I think that referees using different standards is not wierd, is near impossible to have the exact same calls cuz the rules are more or less flexible when it comes to given cards/calling fouls and it really depends on each individual referee. i agree that some calls have been questionable but thats part of the game. i dont think the refereeing has being bad so far, average with some of them, but very good with some other ones, you have to remember the huge pressure that these referees have to make good decisions and the fact that they have to keep the game from getting out of hand as far as aggressiveness goes.

dammit. learn the language before you post!!!

;) haha i'm joking.

referees have been horrible, handing out 2x as many cards as needed. and missing some very important calls when they shouldn't have! and they robbed the French team of a goal. That was ty...

when seeing arab/african teams playing against european teams... it seems like the eurpeans can do almost what ever they want and get away with it. tackles, or swan dives in the penalty area, etc. while the arabs and africans are kept on a pretty short leash in comparison.

Its not that bad. Lets talk about the some strange decisions:

Japan - Australia

That ref was really bad, but in whole it didnt effect the result. Japans goal wasnt a goal, but they deserved a penalty in the second half

Spain - Ukraine

Well,
you could give that penalty. The problem here were the Fifa-rules, that say that the ukraine-player has to get a red card, when the ref said it was a foul.

France - South Corea

The biggest mistake so far. The ball was so clear behind the line!!!

Argentina - Ivory Coast

Definately a goal, but had no effect on the result.

Argentina - Serbia

Normally Argentina would have get 2 more goals here The yellow card for Crespo was one of the biggest joke at world-cup so far!!!!

Netherlands - Ivory Coast

That referee really deserves to get home. Normally Ivory Coast would have get 2 penalties normally. In whole the ref always makes his decisions fo the netherlands!!! Next time he should better wear an orange dress!!!! Worsest referee so far.

In whole too much yellow cards. For every you get one!!! But thats Fifa not referees!!!

There are so many examples of bad decisions during this World Cup, some are obvious others are smaller..

Markus Merk is probably one of the worst referee's at this World Cup.

All referees are pro-Brazil and pro-Germany, hate to say it but it's way too obvious

I voted over a week ago when the refereeing seemed to have been somewhat decent till then. If we consider only about the last 15-20 games it has been a complete disaster.

The referees on this tournament where decent... till two days ago, Por-Hol and especially Ita-Aus where a ing disgrace where the referees just completely killed the match. The worlcup of 2002 was bad but this time it seems to get even worse
