The worst fears of Michael Owen and England have been realised after a scan revealed the striker will miss the next five months with cruciate ligament damage.
Owen collapsed in the opening exchanges of England's 2-2 draw with Sweden on Tuesday and initial fears that the injury was a serious one have now been confirmed.
I knew it was bad when i saw it :( |

| Owen is no loss for England. He was weaker then Ronaldo in this tournament and this cant be said of many players. Eriksson never should have taken him, because Owen is a guy who is often injured and the risk was too high to let him play without match praxis. Walcott is another absolutely joke . With Bent & Beattie he would have taken much better players. |
