I blame the coach. his tactics were . as you can tell by the Ivory Coast game, Zigic is an essential player and we let that go to waste. infact he and Kezman make a great team as evidenced by the spain game in qualifications. so it would only make sense that he be on the starting line-up but why would we do that? we're serbia! our coach wants to act like hes a master strategizer and is saving him for god-knows what so he gets put in the second half against holland. retarded. we needed him in there in the first half to secure a goal and then we could play easy and have more confidence with argentina. if we had even tied the Holland game we might have had a shot with tying against the argentinians and then we could expect an easy win against Ivory as we would have the confidence and persistance to get through to the second round.

but it was just an overall mess of a team and im glad we're done with it. Like I said, I feel bad for Djordjevic, who in my opinion gave it his all (as he is retiring after this) and other players who also played their hearts out. but the coaching was unacceptable and im glad Petkovic is stepping down. good riddance!

it all makes sense, the TA World Cup Forum is the sole explanation for the demise of serbia. muahahahah.

the US was the worst team at the WC in 1998. they rebounded pretty nicely so don't think it's the end of the world. portugal and argentina got bounced in group play in 2002 and look at them now. things dont always work out the way you want them to. i'm not sure what the future holds for serbia but be happy for making it to the WC.

Since you are so embarassed about your team, I would like to see you get your ass out there and play against these players/teams then; since you would be a superstar and get them to the final.

Second of all, who are you to come on here and start bashing ANYONE on these boards. This was your second post.. stfu please!

here is some info on your team just incase you didn't realize you should be happy they made it this far...

Facts

Until 2003, Serbia & Montenegro played international football as Yugoslavia. They reached the semi-finals of the first ever World Cup in 1930. An early lead faded into memory as the eventual champions Uruguay crushed them 6-1.

In 1950, Yugoslavia were eliminated in the group round despite two wins. In 1958 they reached the quarter-finals, where they lost 1-0 to Germany. They took revenge on Germany in 1962 with a 1-0 defeat, but the Czechs proved too strong for them in the semi-final.

In 1974 Yugoslavia crashed out of the second round, in 1990 exited in the quarter-finals. In 1998 the Yugoslavs found their match in the last sixteen when Holland beat them 2-1.

and for the record.. I knew how important this was to one of my friends to have his team do well in the WC and I was cheering for them to advance in this group with Holland. So comments like yours are uncalled for!

I had high expectations for this team, seeing as how well we did in the qualifiers, but after that Holland match it all went downhill. We couldnt beat our only European counterparts in our group..it was a shame, and we even played good that day, especially in the second half, but still not good enough..for the equalizer or victory.
With Argentina it was only hope and belief that would of saved us, and a miracle because Argentina never looked in better shape or form and with our bad luck, very poor coaching and inner stupid serbian bickering, Argentina dominated completely.
And today with CIV, unfortunately I couldnt watch it but I followed it on the internet and we seemd to play a very good first half with 2 goals, but then bad luck again in the second with a powerful and persistent African team our defence stayed strong playing with 10 men, fouling got that score with goal difference in favor of the Elephants, and good for them.

Overall, we didn't play as well as we should of or could of and I just hope when Euro 2008 comes around, we have a smarter coach and more determined and collaborative team so that we can show the world we are something.

The expectations on the Balkans are huge, no matter how the team looks like.

Serbia & Montenegro started out the World Cup campaign as a united and new team against San Marino in the beginning. We won our first games easily, and even won away against Belgium in a great game. Spain was two tough matches, but in Belgrade we could've won it if Kezman had scored and not shot the ball in the post. People started following this team even closer after the tie in Spain, 1-1 at Vincente Calderon and then we won over Bosnia & Herzegovina to qualify us for the World Cup.

Most of us had expectations because we all got to know this team during the qualifiers. We all thought we had a great chance when we qualified, but then when the groups were drawn it was a different story. Holland and Argentina are two teams who's played great football over the years and has got players like Cruyff and Maradona in their history books.

Serbia & Montenegro's most important players was in the defensive line, they were named "The Famous Four" after the World Cup Qualifier after allowing 1 goal on 10 games together with our goalkeeper Dragoslav Jevric.

Nemanja Vidic was suspended for the first game against Holland, and we still had hopes for this team to at least get a tie. Petkovic decided to let Nenad Djordjevic play instead of, for an example, Dusan Basta and we got ruined by Arjen Robben and Hollands so called Total Football. Nikola Zigic didn't start, Petkovic started with Mateja Kezman and Savo Milosevic in that game, and both got substituted, Milosevic was a lot better than Kezman that game. Koroman came on instead of Djordjevic, and Ljuboja/Zigic instead of Kezman/Milosevic. But Holland won this game, and the only players who deserved a credit was Predrag Djordjevic and Dragoslav Jevric.

Nemanja Vidic got injured during a training session before the Argentina game. Ivica Dragutinovic got injured to, and he missed the rest of the tournament, just like Nemanja Vidic, Now we only had 2 of 4 players in the defence. So instead of giving Dusan Basta the chance, he gave it to Milan Dudic, and he got outplayed after 5 minutes when Argentina scored the first goal. Mladen Krstajic was just as bad as the rest of the players, one of the famous four. Goran Gavrancic played bad aswell, but not anything near to Krstajic and Dudic. Then we lost 6-0 and Kezman got sent off.

We were out of this tournament, after two games and it was a shame. But still, we didn't deserve to get through with that kind of play while we were unlucky to get one of our best players injured.

In the last game, when Krstajic injured himself after a tackle, very unlucky once again, Petkovic decided to bring on Albert Nadj. Albert Nadj came on after 20 minutes and got sent off after 44, he didn't even play 30 minutes before the sending off. The Ivorians were making fun of him, and he will NEVER EVER return to the National Team after yesterdays game.

I still think we were lucky to get that second goal, it was Domaroud's fault and Sasa Ilic scored it.

Things will get better people, building a good squad takes time and effort and it's nothing you do over a couple of hours at a training session.

I think personally that it's time to give the chance to the younger players, and I hope we get a foreign manager or Ratomir Dujkovic who's done miracles in Africa together with Rwanda and now Ghana.

Euro 2008 to come up..
