Don't worry.
I'm sure Opus will find some arguement where they were acting alone with no links to global terrorism at all. :p
Nothing to see here.
Just go on with your everyday life like there's nobody out there that wants to kill you... |

this is hilarious.
my falafel guy is more dangerous than these nutty clowns they arrested.
these guys have had zero contact with al qaeda or any terrorists (and wouldn't even begin to know where to look - they supposedly were putting together a wishlist of boots and guns), they had no money, no weapons, and no materials of their own: in other words, they were wackos who sat around conjuring up wacky . oh, by the way, they were turned in by the neighborhood watch lol.
quote from john pistole, fbi deputy director: " [it] was more aspirational than operational."
in other words, frat guys after a binger pose a greater threat...
ratchet up those terror levels boys. |

Well unlike you and the rest of our Administration, I would like to see all the evidence laid out in front of me before I actually draw some concrete conclusions of any sort.
But my initial thoughts on the matter given what we know is our government is doing exactly what it is supposed to be doing. Given its abysmal record of prosecuting terrorist suspects, hopefully they might actually do what we're paying them to do on this one. With that said, I might also say that from what I gathered from the press conference this morning, these guys looked like ing pansies:
| quote: | According to the court documents, a man identified as Narseal Batiste was the recruiter who wanted to organize "soldiers" to build an Islamic army to wage holy war. The others were identified as Patrick Abraham, Stanley Grant Phanor, Naudimar Herrera, Burson Augustin, Lyglenson Lemorin, and Rotschild Augustine.
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/13497335/ |
Okay so far. Then something interesting:
| quote: | | Batiste allegedly met last December in a hotel room with someone posing as a representative of al-Qaida -- someone law enforcement officials say was actually an agent of a country friendly to the United States. |
So let me get this straight. The only actual al-Qaeda member in the group was a federal agent posing as one?
Got it.
| quote: | | The indictment said Batiste initially asked for "boots, uniforms, machine guns, radios, and vehicles," as well as $50,000 in cash, to help him build an "Islamic Army to wage jihad." ....At a meeting on March 16 at a warehouse in the Miami area, the seven defendants allegedly discussed a plot to bomb FBI buildings in five cities, and each swore an oath of loyalty to al-Qaida before the purported al-Qaida representative. |
To which they didn't receive anything. It goes further:
| quote: | | But on May 24, the indictment said, Batiste told the foreign agent that he was experiencing delays “because of various problems within his organization.” Batiste said he wanted to continue his mission and his relationship with al-Qaida nonetheless, the document said. |
So this operation fell apart a month ago because the leader couldn't get together. He couldn't get boots? Radios? Vehicles?
Wait, this is the best part:
| quote: | “They would come out late at night and exercise,” said Tashawn Rose. “It seemed like a military boot camp that they were working on there. They would come out and stand guard.”
Residents living near the warehouse said the men taken into custody described themselves as Muslims and had tried to recruit young people to join their group. Rose said they tried to recruit her younger brother and nephew for a karate class. |
Jesus ing Christ - they couldn't even organize and recruit for their karate class? KARATE CLASS?
Ummm, uhhh, m'kay.
Karate chops of mass destruction comin' at cha full speed. Run for cover. I guess they figured since they couldn't obtain boots, karate kicks with bare feet will have to suffice?
Look, I'm glad our government is doing its job. But given what we know so far, how big a ing slap on the back am I really supposed to give Gonzales here? |

Something else just caught my eye on this story. Let's see:
| quote: | “There is no imminent threat to Miami or any other area because of these operations,” said Richard Kolko, spokesman for FBI headquarters in Washington. He declined further comment.”
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/13497335 |
No imminent threat then, eh? Good. Let's arrest them.
As for those other actual imminent threats, say:
“BIN LADEN DETERMINED TO STRIKE IN U.S.”:
http://www.cnn.com/2004/ALLPOLITICS/04/10/august6.memo/
just discard that one please. |

| That's pretty smart of those terrorists to go after the Sears tower. They must have done their homework since the Sears Tower is built structurally the same as the Twin Towers WTC 1 & 2. I'm glad they're caught before they cause any damage. |

yes, they might've done their "homework" or they might not know of any of any other building in chicago; judging from the fact that they're a bunch of smoked up haitians who aren't even muslim, logic seems to list toward one of the two options...
now that rove has beat back the indictments, we're back to duct-taping windows, buying used gas masks at army/navy stores, and making it seem as though a bunch of clueless gimps are building a deathstar in south florida. |

:haha: :haha: :haha: :haha: :haha:
My whole family and I were laughing after we saw the pictures of these guys posted at CNN, they looked like they were just released from the joint. Terrorists, if these are what terrorists have become then good griefs. These guys probably couldn't buy a bottle of Colt 45 liquor from the local bodega much less blow up the Sears tower. Cmon, "kill all the Devils" as one was quoted as saying. Why does it strike me that these jokers look like a pack of stooges. I'm still laughing at these guys, all the way to the slammer. |

| They've probably got summat to do with that Nation of Islam (or more likely have been influenced by it) and think that 'bigging up' bin Laden is "cool" |
