If it makes it any better, I do this all the time and I know about eight other girls who also do. It was dumb, but most have done at it some point.

Sorry you lost your stuff, thats no fun.

sorry to hear what happend Kris, but I don't think many others do such a thing. I would NEVER leave my purse anywhere. I don't even leave it alone in the Purple Room in Waterloo where things from TA's have gone missing several times. :(

You should be thankful that you didn't have your passport in there since you are going home tomorrow. And a phone is just a phone, I much rather have the money for leaving the country. You are lucky that you have a good friend that helped you out.

thanks Jenn :( surprisingly last night the floor was covered with bags, meeh, pouch from now on and always!

omg, I know.. since I don't have a driving license, I used to carry my passport with me for a while untill I got a BYID from LCBO and that's only $20 so not too bad...

and in terms of the phone I was more upset about losing so many contacts from here AND abroad.. otherwise screw the actual phone :(

i have just became aware of this. if my buddy (even best friend) lost cash due to theft when partying with me, i would not pay compensation for it. here's my reasoning: it was not my fault. we are old enough to take care of ourselves, but obviously as friends we look out for each other. if i saw someone stealing from anyone i know, i'd stop them. but what is lost is lost. we all work hard for our money. it just doesnt seem logical for me to give my friend cash just because he/she lost it.

i WOULD offer to pay for stuff like if we were planning to go to dinner, or some other event where the lost money has affected the ability for the person to attend the event.

does anyone agree with me? maybe im just over analysising this.

his reasoning was that he organized and hosted the party and it's his responsibility to provide safety for everyone and their belongings

i don't necessarily agree with it, but it was uber nice of him and he wasn't accepting it back either

I'll admit I have left my purse here and there a few times @ a club. If I know for sure that I'm going out to a club I carry a small wristlet type that I can keep in my hand or pocket. If I don't know for sure I'll end up at a club I have been known to leave my purse around on occasion if it's starting to bug me. Before I go to any club though I take only the essential things I need like ID/credit card and some money.

I know tons of friends that have lost their cameras @ clubs and don't think it's safe to leave your purse around but when you are having a good time it's unfortunately not your # 1 priority. I noticed a friend of mine tuck her purse underneath one of the booths in VIP once which was kind of cool.

I also back up all my contacts on my cell on my computer just in case I lose my phone. I'm so sick of hearing the phone messages from people that are like "Hi, you've reached so and so. Guys, I've lost my phone and don't have your number. Please don't bother txt'ing me but leave me your number so I can actually call you back. Thanks :("

Funky, hope you have a great time back home! Remember what goes around comes around and hopefully those bitches will get their purses stolen next!

yes I know it is my fault pretty much, but it still sucks:(

went clubbing last night, my bag kept getting in a way, so tucked it on the side of the dancefloor, keeping an eye on it

next thing I know it's gone, and I'm almost crying cos of all the possessions in it, calling the phone but noone picks up...

the female security found it in the girls' washroom, dumped into the toilet water tank, with my wallet completely emptied out... ing bitches, take the money but why purposely ruin my phone with water?!

I actually managed to dry it today a bit, so it's kinda working... cancelled all my cards

what's nice is that the promoter/Dj is my good friend.. so he insisted on giving me a certain sum of money as a compensation, so I at least have money for my travelling 2morrow

great way to say bye to me for 2 months:(

be careful girls, don't be as stupid as I was!

This is why you get a boyfriend: to carry all your stuff around in his pockets :D I never take bags to clubs with me, just take the essentials (wallet, ID, smokes, phone), he puts it all away and i'm worry free for the rest of the night :D
