Hi, I'm looking for good monitors around 300$, any recommendations?
Also, how do I hook them up to my computer? and do I need a preamp to power them?

| depends if they are active or passive speakers. active doesn't need an amp, just connecting cables (might need 1/4inch to rca splitters if your soundcard doesn't support 1/4inch inputs, or xlr for that matter). passive speakers do need amplification. you'll need power for them as well, unless you get usb monitor speakers (joke). |

| What if I don't have RCA outs? I have two 1/4 inch inputs, but they arent for L&R they are for mics. |

What kind of soundcard are you using? You really need 2 seperate outs to run monitors properly. Both RCAs & 1/4 jacks will work.
If you have a mixer, then connect them to your mixer. If you don't, then just plug the monitors into the soundcard. |
