Mississippi Burning and American History X are both great films. |

| American History X was not about the KKK - it was about Skinheads, primarily, but more directly, it was about the inner struggles of a man consumed by irrational hatred, who projected his hatred towards ethnic minorities - only to confront his hatred through comradery, and overcome his previously undeveloped conciousness. |

I grew up in Virginia, and this kinda of ignorance and hatred still exists (more underground now) in the South/Midwest United States. These rednecks still think the American Civil War is still going on.
Here's proof: They were the reason Bush got elected in to office. |

| I did a project on the KKK in high school. Learned a lot...they were nuts. I sent away for some information about them. They probably thought I wanted to join. |

| I forgot to mention the movie of the year for 2005, CRASH. I add this one because of the message it contains, same as American History X, these movies are about hatred and overcoming racism. Very powerfull messages. |
