The picture is not of an aborted child. In fact, there is a good chance that the child is alive and well. The picture is likely from a Dermatology or Pathology textbook.
Icthyosis Vulgaris is a disease cause by reduced or absent keratohyaline granules (granules in keratinocytes, which are one of
the top layers of this skin).
People shouldnt be offended by the pic, because its just a display of someones disease. The picture is posted in bad taste, and its likely that the bad taste is what most people are offended by. |

and i never said they were amusing i said the were interesting, in a bizzare way though. i too find these gross, bu i bet you were still interested. the only thing i find remotely amusing is the captions taht come with them. sorry fo any offence but there was a warning. i thought id just share thsi experience with you all. unfortunately there isnt a forum for sick stuff so i put it here... |

See, there is a fine line between being offended and disgusted (IMO). The whole issue of aborted/pre-mature/sick babies is in no ways offensive to me, i know that our community is faced with things like that very often. However, to look at a child like this is not very eye pleasing (if you know what i mean). To my belief ppl were flaming you not because they were offended, but because they were digusted and this wasn't the proper section (humour/funny stuff/cool websites) i don't think it falls under any of those categories, ppl come here to see something funny or amusing. If you wanted to debate the issue portrayed within that website you should've went to Chill Out room...
