I love shyamalan, and unbreakable was my fave. Your list kicks ass by the way. Vertigo ftw.

Shyamalan makes movies with corny endings. Signs in particular made no sense. I still don't understand why these aliens, who were supposedly intelligent, would come to a planet made of 70% water with a hydrosphere, to only die from it. Just silliness, and The Villiage, don't even get me started.....

It's not about the plot, it's about the metaphor. It's hard to explain, but the plot in his movies is just a superficial carrier of a deeper message. His films are more spiritual (in a non-religious sense) than just mere entertainment.

Actually, I'm not sure how I feel about that one. I suppose most of his plots are ridiculous, but this one is kind of silly. He apparently made up the story as a bedtime story for his child, and then promised to make it into a movie someday. So it's got some sentimental value I guess. Nice to see a director do something for reasons other than money.

All I know is that that'd better be some cool-ass monster dog and not some friggin' villager in a costume! :whip: :whip:

2. The Neverending Story (First & Second)

I've not seen the sequel. But I did like the scene at the end of the first one where he finds all the pictures that illustrated his adventure *cough* *cough*
