I see it as I'm paying $20 of my money to see "the number three dj in the world the world the world the world" I expect him to bring it. I expect to hear new, wonderous things. I expect something different than what he plays on ASOT. I don't expect there to be a prog hour that even at home generally puts me to sleep much less getting played out in a club. Back in 2002 he was straight energy, ESPECIALLY live.

So I feel full right to complain, be it deemed annoying or not, I expect so much more out of the djs that love to throw out their high-ranking stature on some whimsical poll. If they talk the talk they gotta walk the walk :p

He's talking about hearing new tracks... Superstar trance djs are the worse for playing the same over and over and over and over...

Hey, I think Your Loving Arms was the "(Markus Schulz vs. Elevation intro mix) (Ultra)" mix. I think its a big difference (its got the uber cool wave octaves).....they come in at 17:32 in ASOT 251. That's a great track.

I'm a huge Armin fan but if you expect him to throw out something different than what you hear weekly on ASOT....you need to adjust your sights a bit.

I've seen him 4 times in Atlanta and once in DC. Each time has been an amazing show but it's always sounded just like ASOT.

Big DJ's (like Armin) are going to play what people want to hear and raido shows (like ASOT) tend to give us a general consensus of what that is, therefore, Armin sticks to that model.

At least he's not about to hit "rock bottom" like PVD and start spinning a ing progressive house tune at like 160BPM...

...my, how the mighty have fallen.

Great track indeed. Got my hands on a copy yesterday and have been loving it.

Spoke to Mike (Elevation) and he's loving the reaction it's getting :)

I compliment you for saying that mistiso. I actually was not aware that they allowed people who are under 21 into Eleven50. This was my 4th time being there, and the three times before that it was always on the weekend. This was the first weekday, maybe the weekend crowd is different.

How often do you go to Eleven50 mistiso?

Well, the crowd will always (for the most part) be different on the weekends because it's only 21+. No kiddies allowed. You'll still have your fair share of wasted tards (drunken or otherwise) and smelly folks, however.

I've been to Eleven 50 too many times to count by now. I usually go when there's a big name that I'm wanting to see G&D, Armin, Tiesto, Ferry, etc....

Contrary to popular belief, no matter how much I can say I liked PvD's November 05 set over his June 06 set I will be the first to admit that for about the first hour after he got done with Aalto - 5 he played a BUNCH of new banging stuff that not many people had heard I can assure you. It was amazingly awesome how he kicked off the show with ch00n after ch00n and I couldn't ID any of them. Theeeeen he got into the older stuff.

Armin played just like ASOT. A slow proggier hour which he always does and into the samey stuff he's been playing on ASOT recently. Rarely does he stray from his ASOT tunes which back in 02 even when he had ASOT he didn't take the exact songs off of ASOT and just play them in a different order.

Some may say that it's because Armin has such a widely well-known show everybody hears the tracks and knows them giving him less of an ability of playing a set where I could listen to NEW things that I wanted to potentially pursue further. I say Armin's become much more a part of ASOT than it is of him, and he's a crutch to ASOT. In the old days of 02, Armin was a dj who happened to have a radio show called ASOT. In the days of 06 Armin is ASOT, who happens to stop by your town everynow and then so you can listen to ASOT on a bigger system than the one you possess.

Maybe I'm just being a little too analytical, but even PvD has a weekly radio show on Fritz Soundgarden and he isn't as tight-cast to his show as Armin is.

I think it's probably because Armin has far more to prove right now than PVD does. PVD already has the top spot.

Things seem to be far more "competitive" in the EDM world nowadays anyway, so having an edge on everyone else (like Armin has ASOT) is crucial, therefore it's no surprise that "ASOT" (albeit the radio show, albums, etc...) is what makes Armin.

Same thing goes for Markus & GDJB.

Which is what annoys me, djs trying to get the number one spot so bad that they lose focus for innovation and dole it out solely to become one notch closer to number one. Paul van Dyk I never thought really cared about his stature, and I genuinely believed his disinterest yet honor in receiving the title. Armin just so openly wants the number one spot it seems.

Who knows :p

I got emotional during Loving Arms. I almost cried. ................ Ehhhhhh maybe not. It is a great song though. PVd played it at garbage Space, and I sung it to some random girl. Why? It's better than singing to a dude. Guiness is fantastic.
