I valet at a clam bar and got one 2-3 weeks ago. He had the hard top version. Was on a six month waiting list. The shifter is weird.
Not stick,Not automatic, Not tip-tronics like BMW 7 series but some sifting mechanism in the middle and it goes D,R and +/-. Weird . I got 3$ tip :o |

i'm a part-time valet at a hi-rise condo. we had to move a bunch of cars to powerwash the garage and i was lucky enough to get the keys to a '06 M5. no , it took me like 5 minutes to figure out how to start the damn thing. to this day i don't know what i did special to get it started but once i did i drove that f**ker to the top of the garage, back down, out the garage, around the block, and parked across the street. never got over 35mph (still in P400 mode i think) but it handled much better than my '02 Accord thats fo-dang-sho! |

It's called a sequential manual gearbox (SMG). This sequential gearbox contains 7 gear and allows the driver to select from 11 different shifting programs - from full auto to driver-selected racing crisp shifting. This transmission is capable of shifting in a mere 60ms (.060 seconds) - faster than even the most race-hardened driver. The car also 'blips' the throttle (familiar to those who know how to drive as heel-toe shifting) when downshifting to perfectly match engine revs to drivetrain speed. Match that to a V-10 507hp sex-machine of an engine, and you have one helluva car...

to be honest, i'm not all that crazy about the 6 series styling or even presentation. hell of a car though, don't get me wrong. just doesn't appeal to me as much as the M5.
gimme 4 doors and a V10...and some big booty hoes to ride dirty with:cool: |
