I will agree and say that France played a better game in the 2nd half. And the first PK was a call. From one of the replay angles, you could easily see that he was never attacked that caused the foul...talk about Oscar-winning performances.
Buffon made a lot of amazing saves, including the header by Zidane. I think he carried the team for the most part when they started to get tired.
But let me ask you...have you ever played 120 minues of non-stop soccer? Or better yet....played 120 minutes of non-stop soccer in the biggest game of your life?
The game was easily the best of the tourney. Lots of action and I hate that it was tainted somewhat by the Zidane incident.
Looking forward to 2010 :D

Yes, I have played 120 minutes of non-stop soccer a couple of times. Not in a big game like the WC, but what I considered the biggest game of my life at that time. We played fair, no diving and it actually went into penalties. I soccered the deciding penalty to be exact. Zidanes action should be understood. As you said, it is the biggest game of anybodies life that likes soccer. So the men lost it, so what? At least he lost it against the Italians and not the Americans like someone named Iaquinta. Now that was, in my opinion, the worst ever in a game, but the Italians are known for playing dirty. So it comes to no surprise. Let me ask you a question though, aside from all this trash talking, what did you think of Toti? The man was nowhere to be found and if the camera was on him, he was bound to fall down in the next 5 seconds. Let me know. :D |

what the ever!!! I have more respect for him now than I did before the head butt. We all know Materazzi deserved it, it just sucks that the stadium crew replayed the incident on the big screen in the dome. I read rumors that the side judge didn't even see it happen. He just looked up and saw the replay and then talked to the head ref about it. I think it's an awesome way to finish a career. MVP of the World Cup and a huge can of whupass.
P.S. good form on that head butt. notice how he steps directly on the center line of Materazzi so he can really knock the out of him. |

| I just read that the Italian bastard told to Zidane that he is a Muslim terrorist and that his mom is a whore. Well, the Italians are in their best form when it comes to opeining their ing mouths. Oh yeah and the best is, that Zidane got the golden ball for best player of the tournament. the Italians once again. And yeah, the form on that header to the chest was perfect. ing Materazzi, can't play worth a , but has a mouth like no one else. Zizu will forever be remembered as one of the greatest players and that head in the chest incident will not be forgotten, but it will make him imortal. The only thing that Zizu could have done better is to use his fist instead of his head. Put that fist straight thru Mazzerati ing mouth. Go Zidane. :D |
