This event wasn't even in this forum, lol. I actually never even heard of Derrick Carter before but I was in the mood so i went out... Haven't been back in Houston for about a year so first thing I noticed was Meridian hasn't changed really except for the couchs and stuff now in the floor area :conf: Turnout was alright, the parking lot was only half full around 12 or so, Fairly packed inside, but without having no room to move
First off the opener Amanda Robinson was good. I got there for about 45 mins of her set. The beginning was more housey, with one memorable track (an oldskool hip hop remix of some sort) but towards the end she really built it up. I really liked the last 5 or so tracks she played cuz was on!
Derrick transitioned from the house vibe to some hard stuff. I'm all about the hard stuff. Really at this point I was pretty trashed all I can remember is heavy beats and basslines and :disbelief . It was a good time! Talked with him for a few secs after the show. |
