And there's me thinking, making football watchable in the US, would be to,
change the shape of the ball,
change rule so you can pick it up,
and let them run into each other like mindless animals, but with loads of padding (wimps ruby 4tw). |

I remeber reading around the time of the word cup in the US that they wanted to make it four quarters - may have been media bull, or I may have been stoned.
say what you like about north american sport, but in the case of ice hockey they got it spot on. |

i've played rugby and football, you get more cuts / broken fingers / bloody noses from cheap, lowclass pieces of in Rugby but you get hit a LOT harder in football. Football was much more challenging and painful than rugby.
masonious says so, no more discussion on the matter |

no . Look at the all time hardest hits in football and then compare it to rugby. You dont see the injuries rolling off the field in rugby from some 300 lb semi truck smashing in to you.
I hate the sport, but from when I played when I was younger, and from my friends who played for the Huskies....you feel like a train with cleats ran over you....while jumping up and down. |

there are several things wrong with your statement.
1. trains have wheels not cleats
2. trains can't jump because they don't have legs and stuff. |

why dont you play american football first and see how it is, unless you've already played rugby, then its ok, but i dont watch much rugby, do they dish out hard hits or what? ive seen some rugby, but i have never seen them run full speed and hit the other guy with his head. in football i see plenty of full speed hits with the helmet and it hurts, cuz i played for 4 years in high school |
