I came across this earlier about the Scumfrog's gig at Pacha this coming Friday night in NYC.. I am going to be in NYC for Joel Mull and will likely be going to check this out afterwards.. this will be my first time seeing Scumfrog but I have heard good things of his sets here in Montreal.. wonder what the decor will look like from the description of the theme here..
On Friday, July 7, Pacha will host “Copa De Amor” (or “cup of love”), a theme event featuring chart-topping DJ/producer The Scumfrog, and supporting DJs Airloom and Dave Vasquez. The party will feature special soccer décor; the beautiful Pacha dancers in miniaturized team uniforms; and free admission to all passport-carrying citizens of any of the semifinalist nations, or to anyone who shows up wearing a World Cup team jersey. The event will be entirely dedicated to helping Involved’s efforts, in different ways.
First, the club is participating in one of Involved’s eBay auction programs: Up for bid is a VIP table for four with premium bottle service, on the highly coveted mezzanine level just above the DJ booth. Auction winners will also enjoy a private meet-and-greet with The Scumfrog during The Bizness, Pacha’s newly launched music industry VIP reception; Pacha gift bags, featuring products from Sprayology, Nailtiques, and Kamasutra; and a package from The Scumfrog, including a signed copy of his album “Simmer” and coveted vinyl copies of five of his hits – their choice.

Pacha will also donate $1 for every paying “Copa De Amor” patron directly to UNICEF.
Additionally, The Scumfrog will donate the official FIFA referee uniform he’ll be wearing during the party, as chief “whistleblower” of the Involved World Cup Squad. Conceived by Involved, the Squad is made up of over 40 of the world’s renowned DJs, each of whom will donate a signed jersey from their home country’s team for auction. One hundred percent of the proceeds will go to UNICEF. Participating DJs include Sasha (England), Carl Cox (Trinidad), Deep Dish (Iran), Ferry Corsten (Holland) and Roger Sanchez (USA). Pictures of all the DJs – gleefully donning their jerseys – are online at www.involvedevents.com/djsquad.php.
Involved
Founded in February 2005 to raise money for the victims of the Asian Tsunami disaster, Involved has in a short time galvanized the electronic dance music industry and clubbers alike with a series of events and online auctions. The Involved online auctions include unique DJ items and VIP experiences when the fans get not only VIP Club privileges, but also to meet and spend time with their favorite DJs. It’s all about fun and fund raising.

Pacha New York
New York City has always had its superclubs, its decadent underground scenes, its celebrity hideaways. But never before has a single venue encapsulated everything that urban nightlife can be.
Pacha has the feel of a cozy lounge with the scope of a grand nightclub. Its 30,000 square feet are segmented into four levels and endless high-design seating coves, surrounding an open atrium with an intimate dance floor at its base. The look is urban swank (curved edges, glowing lights) meets Mediterranean charm (natural materials, bold colors).
Pacha has played host to DJs like Carl Cox, Erick Morillo and Jeff Mills, and will welcome Danny Tenaglia to its supersized DJ booth in August.

The Scumfrog
An Amsterdam native and New York City transplant, The Scumfrog has evolved his sound by combining the best from both sides of the Atlantic with a sophisticated blend of New York dark and rock-influenced beats, and sexy European sounds. His recent successes include four number one club hits: 2001's Ibiza anthem "We Love You" (Rolling Stones 60's cover), his remix of George Michael's single "Freeek", Billboard dance smash "Love At First Sight" by Kylie Minogue, and his remix of Dirty Vegas' "Days Go By".

There, only to see this, then I am leaving. "I like the Docks better, there are way less sketchballs than the Zone." |

hmmm... I'm tempted to come, I love Scumfrog... but the sketch factor is kind of making me nervous :nervous:
and unfortunately I'm not too familiar personally with most of the TAs on the Roll Call... so will it be worth coming to alone? :(
How sketchy is the zone at 9am?
Whats the stabbing/fight/bad-situation chances inside? :p |

in the two or so years i've been goin there. i've only seen 2 'fights' which never got past a couple punches before the bouncers were on the guys dragging them out the back patio into the fenced off area to 'settle' it and get the ppl off the property ( minus their wristbands)
and the sketch.. is only REALLY noticeable during the mid afternoon. and sometimes concentrated on the back patio.... |

Anybody know if they'll be broadcasting the World Cup match @ CoZo?
Apparently there is a TV downstairs now. |
