Hello from Buenos Aires!

Jason jollins
So as many of you know I have been in Argentina for a week now to play Crobar Buenos Aires and the new club Mei in Rosario.

Amazing city, amazing food, amazing people!

Here's an update so far...

A few hours before the world cup game (Argentina vs Germany) the city was filled with people celebrating in the streets. A half hour before the game started the city became a complete ghost town. no cars, no people, stores shut down, the city literally just stopped to watch the game. amazing...

So after the world cup game I went downstairs and passed by the reception desk of my hotel. The man at the reception desk was literally crying over Argentina's world cup loss. At this moment, i was like , no one is going to go to Crobar tonight. I also felt really bad for the reception guy of course, he's really cool.

I then walked out into the street and the whole city had there heads down. It was such a sad feeling throughout the air and walking down the street.

Anyway, so I do my thing, meet some friends, go out to dinner, then head to Crobar Buenos Aires. I was shocked to see that there was a line around the corner. I get inside the club and the place is packed with i guess 2000 people. I was so happy that people actually went out despite the world cup loss.

Crobar Buenos Aires is a beautiful venue, nice sound, great staff, and the vibe on this night was amazing! I was always told that the crowds in Argentina are the best in the world, now I see what they are talking about. Some friends took video footage and pics which I'll post when I get them.

So Saturday, I go to my gig in Rosario to play the new club Mei. This was one of my favorite gigs of all time. Mei is a 500 person venue with great sound and a very music driven crowd. I get into the booth and I'm welcomed by a big applause and some cheers. I play my set and the vibe in this place was rediculous, i've never felt or seen such energy as I did here. Everyone dancing and moving as one, hands in the air, cheering, just going absolutely nuts for the whole set.

At the end of my set, I play my last track and the crowd is clapping, singing, cheering, asking for one more song, etc... So I play my last track, an old track that is about 10 years old but a favorite and still ahead of it's time.

After my last track the crowd gave me a 40 minute encore, it was unreal. The people literally wouldn't leave the venue. At one point, the owner of the venue came to me and said, man, I have never seen this crowd so excited, they love you... Then he said, we can't really take you out of the booth right now so can you please just duck and hide in the booth until they leave? Anyway, so I hid and they eventually left. amazing!

I have my final gig in Uruguay this upcoming Friday. Somehow I don't feel it will be as good as Crobar or Mei in Rosario but hopefully I am wrong about this :)

Thanks for all of the support, positive words, and encouragement guys. See you in New York soon!
