Hi ppl!

I just got a vacational job in july and i'll earn about 1500 Euros for it! I want to start dj'ing and need your advice what i can buy with this amount of money! Which turntables, mixers and slipmats would you buy? i'm totaly new to the dj scene and don't need the best stuff out there ;)

Thanks in advance!

1500 Euro's?

Darn, what you can buy with that...

As for the turntables, buy as good as possible. Technics is ofcourse the best, but if you can't afford those, buy Gemini.
As for the mixer: buy a mixer with a 3-band EQ on each channel. The number of channels is up to you.
And last, but not least: buy the best headphones you can find.
They are more important than you might think

Good luck!

1500 euros?

Vestax PCV - 275
Flash Bastard

I still can't work out what a Euro is worth! 1500 euros, is that about £1000? It's something like that, isn't it.

Yeah, with £1000 (or 1500 Urei's ;)) you can get a pair of 1210's and have about 400 left for the mixer, if you shop around. Believe me, buy the Technics now and get a cheap mixer if you have to. NOT the other way round!

hmm.. why does no one in here like the PDX-2000's? I think they're better than the technics.. more features, powerfull, and looks better. For the same price, i dont know why people dont like them
DJTJ
Who wants features? Oh great, so you can make the record go backwards. Really useful. Oh, and +- 50% pitch, yeah, gonna use that lots. Plus, I've done s that look nicer than the PDX-2000.

Oh, and did I mention the way that the ASTS "tonearm" (I use the term loosely) totally rapes your vinyl and makes it last for about 6 plays. If you really want to, I'll go into the technical reasons (physics and all that ) as to exactly why the tonearm does this.

Yeah, you are right.
But what I don't get is why tu f*ck does everybody want/tell others to buy mk3d's, I personally prefer Mk2's
MK3D's are basicly a waste of money...
1. Pitch lock button: You won't need that .
2. The pitch slider doesnt click at 0%: bigdeal, you can have that removed from your mk2's
3. The dustcover comes off easier on 3D's, do i need to say anythign about this...
So basicly what you are beeing charged for are type of features that you will never need. If I would be buying Techs, I would get MK2's.
And the main reason why I think about Mk3d's this way, is because some of them have much less torque than mk2's (SOME, not all of them, even though both of them have the same motor...) For people who don't know about torque, basicly the more torque your turntables have, the better they are :D
