I was curious if someone could recommend me some good german metal bands.
So far I know of, and like:
Oomph!
Rammstein
Laibach
Atrocity
Curious if anyone has any other suggestions that I can be on the look out for. Perhaps some newer bands? Website links would be cool too if the band has a website.
Thanks in advance! |

If you like Rammstein you will love KMFDM and Slick Idiot. Perhaps even some MDFMK. Same school of kraut rock with chugging guitars run through loads of valves. Fun stuff.
If you like some of Laibach's more...left of field work you will probably find Einsturzende Neubauten really really interesting. They make some beautiful songs but none of it is really music in any real sense. Some of their tracks like ZNS and Yu Gung have a beat and a structure but its bizaare as hell if you arent used to it. I personally think they are brilliant though. |

Best metal comes from Sweden!
Are you sure you're only interested in German metal? |

There are lots of German metal bands, but they cover a lot of different styles. Not really anything like the bands you've listed (which are more along the lines of industrial/industrial metal) but when someone says German I think of the big three of German thrash:
Sodom
Kreator
Destruction
Can't go wrong with those. Then there's the German power metal acts like Helloween, Gamma Ray, Edguy and Freedom Call. I also like a technical death metal band, Necrophagist, and then there's Lacrimas Profundere which sort of range from doom to gothic. It seems like you're more into industrial but you asked for German metal so there you have it!
P.S. Laibach are Slovenian. |
