Yes, it's sad as a human being he passed away. It's a situation like this one when sentiments overshaddow morality.

Many have lost their lives, livelyhood, education funds, retirement funds, suicide and live in poverty due to crimes Lay did. Many people in Canada invested in Enron as well. I feel for the betrayed Enron employees and shareholders, as I (like thousands of Canadians) felt a similar pain when my Nortel shares pleummeted due to scandals and lies with the Nortel executives. I lost a lot of money, but fortunately for me, not as much as most. Executive crime can have a bigger impact on society than most people perceive.
