Hey guys,
Hope this wasn't posted already...
Recently themixingbowl.org has been having trouble with the BPI in the UK because over there they consider recorded-live sets as "bootlegs" and looking to remove sets and/or shut TMB down. Having seen situations like this before, organizations like the BPI always end up on top.
So in the case that TMB.org does loose this battle, what other Torrent sites to you guys use for EDM downloads?
Upto now I've been a primary users of TMB, Tribalmixes & djmixes2k
Preferably looking for Torrent sites with live sets of all genres of EDM (Drum & Bass, Breaks, House, Trance, Techno etc.)
Thanks. |

Re-Edit: Ah okay, I haven't been there really, so I couldn't know. |

Edit: ROFL WTF?! ********* seems to be a prohibited word on TA. Why? |
because it promotes illegal filesharing of copywritten material. |

yea, i know eh... and sadly enough, live sets are what keeps EDM alive.
I've literally bought hundreds of records, cds and mp3s based on tracks I discovered from live sets.
These guys are just shooting themselves in the foot, if they begin to shut down sites like TMB. |

TMB was more than just live sets though.
It is the single best music sharing community I have ever seen. The members were so friendly, and everybody wanted to share. The variety was top notch, and loads of rare stuff.
It looks like its back to slsk for me. |

someone on TMB forums says if they move the server to Canada, then they could avoid the whole hassle with BPI.
I really hope they can work things out.
So, does anyone else want to share the source of their live sets?
I feel like i've lost my main source... I got a lot of my music from there :( |

| yes, very sad indeed. BPI is not the artists though. BPI is protecting their cash cow. Many trance artists realize their careers were made on traded live sets. That was even true for rock acts like Metallica back in the day when Master of Puppets was passed hand to hand on casette tapes before the album came out. I don't know about the Mixing Bowl, and it's sad to see it go. But hybridized.org is very cool. V-sag, micah, cor fijneman etc have agree to share their live sets for promotional purposes. These are good names in progressive, and they want you to share their sets! It's very good idea, and I think these forward looking artists should be well rewarded by true trance fans, hopefully to the permanent financial detriment of fascists like the BPI. Maybe the BPI can just focus on selling ringtones of the crazy frog since they don't have an excuse for being involved in the great art of music. Funny thing about the BPI is even if they win this battle, they lose. Common business sense would have indicated to a people of higher baseline intelligence to not attack their customers so callously. BPI has taken the path of the creature who wants to be extinct. When a company or conglomerate loses drive, vision, and clutches to subsistence, the profit evaporates and the dessicated die. Bye, bye, BPI. Shame you can't be part of the future. |

| This stinks, I really hate how good things get killed off... they tend to forget that we do buy cds, vinyl and downloads... mixes were are thing to have as a community... this blows so much, I just got into tmb and I love it, the people are awesome and the mixes are great... I don't know what i'll do if it does get shut down... |
