ECCODEK
www.eccodek.com
"Eccodek reveals the face of global music." Global Rhythm (USA/UK)
"An extraordinary blend of world beat, mystical voices, folkloric traditions, modern jazz and trancehall electronica."~ The Hamilton Spectator
Led by one of Canada's most adventurous contemporary global music explorers, Andrew McPherson, Eccodek's innovative melding of downtempo, tribal, electronic and ethnic voices inspired U.S. magazine Global Rhythm to remark, "Eccodek reveals the face of global music." Exclaim! calls the new Voices Have Eyes "a much anticipated album from Canada's best known world beat artist". This new release has been a fixture in both the Earshot! and Chart Attack Top 10 world and electronic charts for months while also making waves internationally. Current negotiations with White Swan World will soon take the project to the international stage as Voices … and the previous release More Africa in Us are set for re-release in North America. Collaborations on Voices range from the Juno-nominated Indo-Canadian vocalist Kiran Ahluwalia to Fiji's Savusavu Choir and singers & percussionists from Mali, Nigeria, Rwanda, New Zealand and Turkey.
Visit www.eccodek.com for bio information and an extensive selection of enchanting audio from each Eccodek and Andrew McPherson solo CD.
"An ethereal, atmospheric, global soundtrack." ~ The Toronto Star

KUSH
www.kush-music.com
"Miles would be proud ... Kush has the courage to do what few traditional jazz artists do anymore, create spontaneous compositions live on the fly." ~ online review
Kush is improvised music for the mind, body and soul, moving seamlessly and instinctively through downtempo, house, acid-jazz, Latin, and tribal vibes – wherever the mood of the room, and the chemistry of the band take the sound on any given night. Kush was nominated for the 2005 Canadian Smooth Jazz Award as Group of the Year. Led by bassist and electronic explorer Etric Lyons (Remy Shand, Jesse Cook, Alfie Zappacosta, Da Orchestra & many other world touring credits), the band is rapidly growing in popularity on Internet radio stations around the world; and is developing a passionate following with niche audiences such as film and hospitality.
Toronto-area festival-goers will be able to enjoy Kush for the first time this summer at the Beaches Jazz Festival, at the Kew Gardens stage on Sat. July 29th. See www.beachesjazz.com for more info.
