I was just out for a morning 5 mile ride.. bout halfway out I hit a small little pebble while manuevering around a curve. The cycle just flew out to the right and I went down..

hard.

My knee is gashed and my elbow cut.

ing pebbles don't work well with road bikes.

:whip:

lol, actually, now that i think about it, it seemed to take 5 minutes to hit the ground

the tiest part was having to walk my bike back home since the chain fell off of the cassette and gears and i couldn't get it back on without someone pulling the rear derailleur back.

i'll be going to back out for another ride around 5:30 i think.

:)

Yeah, my sis and her boyfriend are into mountain biking. They both have top-of-the line Treks.

I just *edit*prefer*edit* the speed and smoothness of road bikes.

Why does that happen?

When I had my accident on my bike, it seemed to take forever for me to hit the ground. Is there a reason we percieve it like that?
Perhaps a chemical reaction or something?

Any theories here?

Probably an adrenaline or some sort of chemical rush making you aware of more things and able to focus more... or something

That's what I was thinking. But if that were the case, then wouldn't you be able to react to it better?

I mean, maybe I am just dumb, but I just watched the ground come towards my face. I didn't really attempt to do anything.... I just watched the grass slowly zoom in, and then SMACK.

LOL!!

I think that happens to everyone though. I mean, if everyone gets the slow-mo reaction, wouldn't we be able to prevent it from happening, or soften the blow or something?

Hmmmmm...
