how different could it have been for france if zidane had scored on that header from sagnol's cross . . .
he just completely lost his head. horrible way to go out. i wonder if zidane will reconsider his decision to retire and give it one more go with the fabio capello lead real madrid and go out properly . . . |
real are going to completely overhaul their midfield in the next few weeks. Capello is just waiting for the results of the Italian scandal so he can pounce on a few old Juve players and some from the other clubs. |

They'll all be free agents so I've heard. Many good players to be had. As a side note, Del Piero will play on w/Juve though. I could see him scoring a few goals in Serie C ;)
Well it's a shame that Zidane ended his career like this. 'Twas a moment of madness.
Which teams do you support (internationally and at club level)? |

zidane went out like a punk beeyotch. so glad his team lost. he totally over reacted. that's no way to play in a championship match |

| You guys are being a bit harsh on Zidane. Haven't any of you ever had the sudden urge to headbutt an Italian in the chest infront of 2 billion people.... :D |

| Normally when people retire or die, they "wanna go out like a champ" headbutting a person in the chest does quailfy, but technically since it was the championship game and he lost it.... i guess he didn't go out like one :D |

| We'll know soon enough what was said to Zidane, as I'm sure FIFA will investigate to hand out the proper fines. All being said, what a sad way to exit for an otherwise stellar career. Zidane's been my hero. |

i watched the match on spanish tv so i dunno if they showed the ENTIRE replay of what happened on abc. anyways, matterazi held on to zidane's jersey and zidane ran in front of him, and headbutted him in the chest :wtf: he's supposed to be his teams leader and it was his last match. to make a bonehead move like that is just plain wrong. i actually wanted france to win because they eliminated some legit teams to get to the championship. but after that b.s. i totally wanted italy to spank their asses and really glad that they did. i don't think i'm being 'a bit harsh' in the least bit. zidane was totally out of line. not only did he disgrace himself as a player, but his team mates, fans & country. i'm sure zidane wishes he could go back in time and change what he did but it's too late. him :D |

| I think its something Matterazi said to Zidane that made him go off. Probably called him an old has been or some insult in Italian. |
