good track selection, mixing quality was good too. One thing I didn't like was there were too many breaks or soft spaces in the songs. I know every damn song has them, stupid trance formula, but I just don't like hearing them in an otherwise upbeat mix.
Great d/l speed too at 300k/sec from Aus -> Can :) |

yeah cant really help the breakdown thing.. thats the kinda choons i go for i guess.
good to hear its :whip: 300KB/sec :whip: the server is in the US anyway... its cheaper in AUS to get hosting overseas than here...

This mix is excellent!!! Congratulations!
I give it 10/10. The track selection and mixing are both great.
I really liked "Jetlag", "El Viento", "X T Cee"... Just a suggestion: in the transition between 'Dreamland' and 'Space Melody' you can leave just the final riff of "Dreamland" and then silence it entirely. What you did there was also leave the final bassline that follows the riff; this doesn't sound so good.
Again -- solid mixing, excellent tracks. Very, very nice. What was the bitrate, 210 or something? Also what's your setup like?

10/10 are u sure? im flattered :D :D
Average bitrate turned out at 216kbit/s - quite happy with that. My vol 2 was only 182 using the same encoding command...
I was happy with the way i did the mix into space melody.. i tried many different ways... i like how space melody has that really chunky beat and letting it go through the last little break in dreamland sounds mad imho...
what does everyone else think?
check out my oldskool mix also and let me know what you think...

One thing I noticed (after burning it onto a CD) is that in Hinx - El Viendo (5) the synths are unnaturally quiet.
Did you turn the Mid/Highs to the left by any chance, or was the original record like that? I find that I have to turn up the volume until the bassline kicks in, and the synths are still quiet.
By the way, just wanna say again that this mix is superb! Not a single weak track.
I'll probably give the CD to my Dad -- he's asked me a few times to show him what kind of music I enjoy, and this is one of the best samples thus far. |

When I record I let the record play itself as it was pressed.. ie eq's at 12 oclock... the only time when they may not be at 12 is during a transition...
i probably didn't have the track quite as loud as I could have...
another problem i spotted is some noise from my mobile phone.. hahaha.... its during breakdown in X T Cee... fux0red!
i could resample that bit and fix it up in sound forge but im too lazy

did you leave the mic on? |
|
|
| reemo |
| Nah I dont even have a mic.. My mobile phone was on silent mode about 1 meter away from my mixer, someone called me and just the radiation from it is was enough to cause that bit of noise :conf: |
