if im not mistaken, that would be Delhi, India
the Bombay trains are too frequent to get THAT overpacked
+ those are fossil fuel trains....the Bombay system is all electric |

Wow....thanks Liam. That's really sad to see though. It's good that people can get around, but how many people get hurt on those things?! I hope they don't travel too fast. |

ive never heard of a casualty by that...in India its different from subways over here...people accomadate each other..theres alot of empathy rather than "survival of the fitest" |

My apologies, I didnt read the article properly to realize that the blast happened in commuter trains but neverthless, this is a situation that needs to be addressed.
I live in Delhi but was born and bought up in bombay but havent travelled on the local commuter trains in several years now.
The same thing happened in london last year and I have been going there for the past few years and this year I noticed how much stricter they have become when it comes to screening luggage, no matter how small. Its just a shame that the "prevention is better than cure" rule is never taken under consideration until something severe happens.
Thankfully my relatives in bombay are ok but my heart goes out to those affected by this terrible tragedy. All the blasts were in first class compartments so the bastards definately had a well synchronized agenda in place. |

On the contrary, something like 5-10 people die weekly on the Mumbai system (mostly by cross tracks at bad times). |
