hey this has been bugging me for awhile even though i've been listening to trance for awhile.. but anyway what is the segment of a song called where it is just the beat acting as the main part? this is more obvious in vocal trance like the singer would sing, then sometimes a beat would come in and just "beat" like the vocals.. I'm sure everyone has heard cascada - everytime we touch because i hear it on the radio all the time so i'll use that as an example.. its right after the first chorus around 0:55 to 1:37
i even went through this DJ glossary i found only but it was really long and i might have read over it by accident. Thanks in advance. |

if all you hear is the beat part of the song... then it's called the beat.
Seems fairly straight-forward to me. |

Luckily got Cascada's cd right here with me, and had a listen to 0:55
Thats called a breakdown bro, And the beat coming in is a 'kick'. If you ever get into making music you'll soon realise its a very important part of musical production. I always love the breakdowns in trance because it sounds so uplifting and makes you feel somewhat free.
In my opinion anyway.. you guys get that to right? .. right?
Edit: P.S - Basically all music is producted roughly the same way. Starting with the 'work up' part of the song
Then a breakdown
Then the kick comes back in
And as you can see.. (In this Cascada track) some tunes have 2 breakdowns. Followed by the 'outro' of the song |
