| I've actually thought quite a bit about buying one of those... Please let me know what you think of it man... If it's all good, I think I'll be purchasing one in the not too distant future :) |

I've been thinking about getting one, but I just bought a new MacBook which lets me record my set at the same time I'm playing. woohoo..

| Yeah, I have the laptop option too, but honestly, my laptops take too much of a beating from travel as is, I'm just looking for another option to record nights out... |

Plenty of local dj's in Toronto have purchased this little toy, and I purchased it based on their overwhelming positive response. So simple to use, and although a bit pricey (i got mine for $499 cad + $60 for a 2gb card), it comes with editing software, a very quality t-style mic, software, headphones, etc).
I will be recording my first ever demo tonight (likely in 320kbps), and i'll post it in this thread and the dj promo forum for you guys to take a listen - the sound quality is stellar :D |

| Sean Miller decided to order one of these www.rolandus.com (edirol R -09), he was recommended this by Satoshi Tomiie. I tried to convince Sean to get the Microtrack, but alas he took Satoshi's recommendation over mine. lol. |

lol! that price is just ing stupid! you could get a ing cdj-200 for that price! i wouldn't mind having something like this but no way would i pay even half that for something that just records.
:wtf: |

You should check out the older Iriver H120 and H140. Can do pretty much all the same things and more, plus it has an optical digital in/out, more capacity 20/40 gigs and is half the cost. I have the H120 and record with it all the time.

Agreed. The R-09 is feature for feature better than the M-Audio. One big downfall to the M-audio is that you can't replace the rechargeable battery without sending it back to them. That's a deal breaker for me! The Edirol is supposedly much better built and has better features. It's also newer (just released a few months back).
Are they worth it? I think so if you're really into recording. Easier than a laptop for playing out, and top notch sound quality and relability. Why risk losing a great set on anything else?
