Dave Clarke hmmmm

I think some djs should retire when they hit 30, not saying hes bad but, his techno was outplayed in 1999 didn't it?

hrm...Well, I might be able to like it, but it would take very specific circumstances. Too much unse unse unse unse for me...especially after Nathan Fake & Holden :wtf: . Was like switching from courvoisier to everclear halfway through the night.

haha, what the does age matter when it comes to DJing? theyre DJs not athletes. And no, techno wasn't outplayed in 99. Not to mention Dave Clarke is one of the better DJs in the world.

Some djs should consider hanging their headphones...

To quote Zeonfiend:

quote:
there are scads of cats from the late '80s and early '90s still going today that should have taken the graceful way off the map a long time ago. Just because they struck gold in 1992 doesn't automatically mean they can hang with the scene in 2006, and it's slavish adherence to the "support the scene no matter how ty the DJ" manifesto that's enabled these anachronistic dinosaurs to continue to plague big-name clubs and huge events and drop absolute bat on a crowd that a) not only paid to get in, but b) deserved better. EDM has a nasty habit of turning up its nose at the "Evolve or Die" method of dynamism and forting up around the toothless and infirm Cro-Magnons as if to preserve them from musical entropy.

...quote of the year, IMO.

Anyways, not saying he falls into that category. I like what I've heard from some of the guys around today, but for the most part, I just don't care for techno. Also, there's a fine line between showcasing your talent & just showing off. A lot of the techno stuff I hear now crosses that line. I'd rather hear a simplistic yet unfairly catchy & enjoyable Mylo track than "Omgyjya-Switch 7," no matter how difficult something like that is to create.
