Romanthony - Never fuck... IT'S AN EJAY TUNE!
View this Thread in Original format
Mr.Mystery
When listening to PvD's fab liveset I heard this tune...
I was sure I'd heard the snarefill somewhere before.

So I downloaded the original version of "Never ".
And you know what?

IT WAS MADE OF NOTHING BUT EJAY SAMPLES!!! (except the lyrics of course)
Believe it or not.
The drumloop is a straight ripoff from Techno eJay and the snarefill is from Dance eJay 1 or 2...

I have been toying with eJay since 1998 so I recognized the samples instantly...

If you don't believe me I can knock you up a "tune" with the exactly same samples in it.

Sheesh... some people... :stongue:

incredible...

did you recognise EVERYTHING or did he just nick some samples off of e-jay and maybe put em in his sampler?

otherwise.....LAME LAME LAME

even if he nicked entire loops LAME LAME
Beamish
nah, not lame. pretty cool I think....

hmmm... when a good song is the result of this kind of work, why not doing it :)
Az_1
nah not lame, Carl Cox has made a few tracks on eJay, and PvD was reported to have made few tunes on eJay 1, so it can't be all bad :p
Trance4Eternity
Regardless of how the dude made the song, u have PvD making 4 mixes, must be doing something right.

Does anyone know if Reason is used by the "big guys"? I mean, that program is kinda flexible...

So is it just me using it?
Mr.Mystery
You should hear some of the eJay stuff, that tune is definitely NOT good even in eJay standards.

It has the loop. Only the loop. Basic Techno eJay loop.
Then the snare fill. Straight from Dance eJay 2.
Then some of the tiny guitar samples every now and then.
I'm not sure where they're from but eJay Sound Collections have some VERY similar samples in them.
Then the vocals.

So basically... there's been 5 (mono) mixing channels used. At best.

Mr.Mystery
Just for the record:
The Beat Project stuff I have made (link in my sig) is made with eJay as well. Wanna compare? :D
Mr.Mystery
One more thing.
I know that at least Carl Cox, Marc Spoon, Cut la Roc, Milk&Sugar and Junkie XL have made samples to eJay programs and Sound Collections.

I wouldn't had said anything of this tune if there had been some imagination used in it... but it just sounded so lame... I could do a similar track with eJay in 5 minutes.
