anyone else get this with some trax?
you start something. its great, really driving and fresh.. but you start to polish it so the levels are all properly set and then it sounds standard and quite boring/generic..
its the most annoying thing to me when this happens. anyone got tips to stop this happening? |

1 way is to watch your levels from the start
another way is that if it's not too much over the limit put a limiter on it. That way you should still have the track driving. Too much limiter though will give it a ducking sound. i have this problem quite a lot. It seems my kick doesn't have any punch to it unless it's just below 0db and when i add the rest of the tracks in it always goes over. frustrating. |

| Just put some Tape style distortion/compression on the final mix. :) |
