disections are great fun... love the sound of the band saw cutting through human bones and tissues!! haha ah anatomy labs...

watched an autopsy too a while ago that was pretty cool!

the only bad thing with surgery is the smell of the diathermy tool when used, kinda smells like buring hair mixed with pop corn! then you realise its the smell of cooking flesh....

Sure did. Was kinda gruemsome and intriguing at the same time. Looking forward to the next one.

i watched it and it was fascinating! definately gruesome especially when they flayed his skin, i loved it when the german anatomist said "gimme ze chisel!"

kudos to SBS for taking a chance with this polemic show :)

the Brasilian "city of men" series beforehand was great aswell, if you liked "City of God" you will also like this show as its set in a slum and by the same directors

and i got suckered into watching part of that french film afterwards, "the copy is more beautiful than the original" bloody existential french and their platonic musings :p i fell asleep when he imprisoned the hooker he kidnapped inside his house

I didn't think it was that grusome. The dissection wasn't really detailed enough to be gruesome. I was hoping for more detail in the dissection. It was interesting with the flaying of skin and connective tissue underneath. Pretty impressive too with following the nerve all the way down the leg. Having said that it wasn't absolutely riveting, I think mainly cos I've heard all the theory parts before I was wanting more of the dissection than discussion.

I'll definitely be watching the next few weeks though.

bah.. it was like watching softcore porn!! you only see everything from a distance!!

also didnt give to much detail IMO into anything most lay people wouldnt already know! though it was good to see a fresh specimen compared to the 20 year old preserved bodies we cut up!

but agree, good on sbs for showing it anyways..
gives people an insight into something they wouldnt normally!!

Yeah the only parts that made me wince were the skin being taken off and hung on that bar and the cadavers testicles hanging on the vas deferens like two pendulums. Other than that it was quite interesting.
