DAVID GARCIA

David Garcia has earned the reputation as one of the most versatile voices of the San Francisco scene. He is an artist who can successfully blend club anthems with underground sounds. In doing so, David creates a unique brand of House Music enjoyed both in the clubs and in the underground. His style and music selection consistently crosses genre and demographics, uniting the young raving crowds with more the experienced club goers.

"I grew up in LA with Hard House and Techno, moving up to the Bay Area to find Deep House. It was then that I had to adjust and fine-tune all the ingredients. "

In 1994, David introduced himself to the Los Angeles club scene by captivating listeners as a finalist on POWER 106 FM''s POWERTOOLS DJ contest. While appearing at the most popular dance spots in Los Angeles and San Francisco , David continued to evolve his sound. In 1995, he joined forces with Richard Humpty Vission and Tony B! In Los Angeles , as a co-producer on the POWERTOOLS radio show as well as on-air work on 106.1 KMEL-San Francisco, David soon began to build an avid and diverse following. Jet setting between Los Angeles and the Bay Area soon gave David the exposure he was looking for.

By 1996, David''s street and on-air popularity grew. David accepted important residencies at CLUB X and THE SOUND FACTORY in San Francisco . David was also critical in conceptualizing a new underground radio show, "House Nation," on WILD 94.9 FM. In just six months, "House Nation" became the #1 rated radio show in San Francisco . After three years with "House Nation," David went on to establish "Radioactive" on Z95.7 KZQZ-San Francisco. "Radioactive" not only created an outlet for local DJ''s, but was one of the first shows to feature the music and interviews of such dance personalities as Pete Tong, the Basement Jaxx, the Rhythm Masters, DJ Sneak, Dj Dan, Donald Glaude, Bad Boy Bill, Terry Mullan and more.

It was the success of "Radioactive" in the year 2000 that gave way to the release of David''s first nationwide CD mix compilation, "DAVID GARCIA presents @ THE CLUB 2000." Within the first two months of its release,"@ THE CLUB 2000" sold over 10,000 units, occupying the #1 Electronica slot at the Virgin Megastore for 12 straight weeks. For the months that followed, David supported the success of his CD by blowing up dance floors with sets at Spundae, Space 550, and Club Release while connecting with his younger audiences at larger events like The Ultra Beach Festival in Miami, Moonshine Over America Tour 2000 in Oakland, Together As One in Los Angeles, and Metropolis 2001 in San Francisco.

David''s latest launch is his most dramatic, the formation of his own label imprint: SOLMATIC Records. Through Solmatic, David has transitioned and immersed himself into the production side of Electronic Music. Confirming David''s talents as a producer are his releases which include, "Robofunk" on Soul Phusion Records (Licensed for Donald Glaude''s MIXED LIVE AT BUZZ on Moonshine and Bad Boy Bill''s BANGIN'' THE BOX 5), and along with label and production partner Jay Walker an EP on Chicago''s International House Records (IHR) titled "You Can''t Change My Ways / Fascinated," and two releases on the coveted new House imprint Moonshine Red. Chart support from global djs such as Judge Jules, Carl Cox, DJ Dan, Bad Boy Bill, Robbie Rivera, Richard Vission, John Acquaviva and many others, has taken David to the next level of his music career, with more enthusiasm than he has ever had before, knowing this is only the beginning...
