you all seen this thread
http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...threadid=233907
now you know most of these synths are pretty old like more than 2 years old.
fm7,pro 53,Absynth,Vanguard,V-statio,Zeta ,superwave,synth1 just to name a few.
i guess they could update the thread.
So my question is basically with most of the best trance synths being old ,is it a good idea to use them to make new trance sounds today? Or has some manufacturer allready made some new trance synths that are not on the list?
or are these fine even though they are old , i guess the old saying goes if it aint broke dont fix it!
i guess if you can make new sounds with old synths then i guess they could work but if anyone knows some new synths ,let me know. |

i think the age of the synths aren't really a problem. you can hear some really old synths (e.g. oberheim xpander sample clip) making nice sounds for use in current trance tracks. i think it's just the matter of how you want the tweaked patch to sound. i've come across several synths and yet able to make almost similar sounds. |

In all fairness though the Oberheim Xpander is fully analogue and is one of the greatest analogue synths ever made.
The Xpander is timeless. |

the most interesting music doesnt care what time its parts are from, because the whole is ultramodern |

that reinforces my claim about getting new synths like Absynth 3 or 4 for example.
when you can do wonders with the old versions. |
