if you don't think things happen for a reason, if you don't think there is hope for things to change (if they need to change) your just as useful as a monkey.
yep, a monkey. which needs to be told what to do, when to do it and how to do it.
if you think on your own and you have faith that things will turn in your favor, you'll be happier and this i guarantee you.
so, buy my book you son of a gun. |

I don't think things happen for a reason in the sense that a higher being has our lives predetermined, and we just have no way of comprehending or understanding... you know, that whole "god works in mysterious ways" nonsense.
I think when there is a reason for things happening, it is due to the conscious choices we make. I can also separate that from being hopeful that things will change in the future (if that's what I desire); to me that's simply a matter of the optimistic (or pessimistic) outlook of the individual. I definitely think people have the individual power to make things positive in their lives... as Thomas Jefferson said, "I'm a great believer in luck, and I find the harder I work the more I have of it." |

sounds to me like you should ditch trying to solve this with philosophy and go see a doctor. They do wonders to help people get back on track when over analyzing usually only leads to digging the hole deeper.
just my 2 cents. |

You can make excuses for losing, or find reasons to win. The rest of us won't hesitate to lap you because you're too down feeling sorry for yourself.
Life has its ups and its downs and I agree with a few comments here. |

| I can tell you, from experience, that things can happen for a reason but we can't connect the dots by looking forward, we can only connect the dots by looking backwards. I know for a fact that the tide can turn in your favor and that good things can happen if you focus hard and keep pressing on (Thanks Dylan...) |

2 books I highly recommend everyone should read if they haven't.
Both by author Napolean Hill
- Think & Grow Rich
- Success Through A Positive Mental Attitude
Both of these were really inspirational reading for myself during quite a difficult time in my life a couple of years ago. |
