| So if Friday rolls around, or wednesday or any day for that matter, and I happen to be in ye olde forest city.. where is there to go in this town that'll play music that's actually good for grooving to, like house stuff or progressiver or what have you? I don't get out to the clubs much, so I don't know if there even is such a place. Not so into the top 40 shlock.. any advice? |

i went to the Phoenix last night, for the first time, and it was decent (for London). they played house in the main room, and you can't beat black and white tiger-print carpeting :)
i've been meaning to check out Spotlight and Annex too...i haven't heard anything about them though. let me know if you'd like a dancing partner... |

to be honest London doesnt offer much that isnt top 40 .. however ..
Saturday nights at Phoenix are "house nights" .. they bring in Toronto DJ's .. and yes the zebra print carpets are quite intersting lol .. its the closet thing you will get to a Toronto style club here though
Wednesday at Spotlight they have breaks .. not a very busy night
Annex and Club 181 are the 2 gay bars in town .. allways good tunes .. not all that busy though
Courtyard sometimes has events there as well only fridays or saturdays .. again hit and miss
the back room of the Barking Frog (2nd building) is supposed to have house playing on saturday nights .. but with the students being away for the summer and the city not as busy as during the school year .. not sure if it is even open ..
Deko-ze has a residency at Barking Frog as well at at Phoenix .. but probably wont see him til the school yr is back
Hope that helps. :D |
