You are waaayyyy off. Check the fins. The one pictured has the dorsal fin right below the head, while the Flying Fish has it near the tail. Also, the flying fish has pectoral fins placed very high up (close to the spine) on the body, while the fish pictured has them almost at the belly.
I believe whoever said it was a Chimaera. |

Yeah, I've dated farm girls cuz I had no choice those summers in Vermont. However carp, even though they are large fish, are extremely slow moving fish that oftem swim with their dorsal fins above the water, making them rediculously easy targets. The fight they give is good, especially if you miss the heart, which is nearly impossible to strike intentionally anyways.

sorry i got confused there for a second, i thought he said that my flying fish was Chimaera |
