Dreaming of You
By Your side
Synthaesthesia
Hell wouldn't mind hearing Escape if it would work in a club. Probably the best chillout track produced to date
As fate would have it, I cannot make the show, much less do anything until the first paycheck comes in on the 15th. Or if a certain, person who will so-far remain unmentionable, pays me back on the 8th as promised.
Im not gonna get too down about it. If I dont bounce on a jump I gotta long life ahead of me and Im sure I'll catch him someday. I'll be there in spirit. Best wishes. |

Last night was an awesome night. The music was on-point from the first record dropped to the last. Thrillseekers tore the roof of Club One, he had the whole crowd really going all night. KT's set PRICELESS! Thank you TA for all your support.

| Kenneth Thomas is getting huge. I think some of the top-end DJs are going to have to start watching their backs in the not-too-distant future. He killed at both Tiesto and the Alley 416 afterparty, and then he goes and does it again at Thrillseekers. Definitely bears watching. :eyes: |

Kenneth and I have a smiliar taste in music and it was a pleasure getting to open for him in Miami and McAllen. His productions are pretty solid as well. I see no reason why Kenneth won't be headliner material for the bigger shows within the next 2 years. |

Your new hobby, for example. :stongue:
We seriously need to move you someplace that appreciates your talents. Houston is holding you back. |

Yeah I feel like an ass, I completely missed the typo. Honest mistake. I meant to say "I see no reason HE (meaning Kennth Thomas) shouldn't be headliner material in 2 years."
I apologize for any misunderstanding as that is NOT the kind of person I am.
Just thought I would clear that up :)
As far as me, I'm just glad I had the opportunities I did and gave every gig my best effort. Whatever anyone's opinion of my style, taste, abilities, its to each their own. I've received a tremendous amount of support during the time I was playing out and it was and still is much appreciated. As many know (or have heard) I am taking time away from the music for a variety of reasons. I cannot gauruntee when I'll get back to it as there are a few things in my life that have taken more of a priority..so we'll see.
As far as 'headliner status' Im at the point now where I could honestly give a rats ass if I get that far or not. If it happens it happens, if it don't..I'll keep doing the music as long as it feels worthwhile.

Haha, I didnt catch the typo until Lizandro's response. I will admit pursuing the A license is consuming my time and money at the moment, that with the bills isn't allowing for much left to spend on keeping current with the latest tracks.
I will disagree that Houston is or ever was holding me back. I've already gotten about as far as I am going to go without producing my own material. Its true I do re-edit alot of material I purchase to beef up the percussion but that aint good enough. It might work for established headliners, but it was their original productions that got them there. I have the gear and equipment, and its a matter of time before I do start producing; but its like practicing to be a good DJ. Being a good producer takes the same .
When I was unemployed during my first year of DJing, its all I did, it was an obsession, it took over my life. So far (up until this past May) I've had 5 and a half years of solid experience. I dont even have 1% of that with producing. I *could* throw some together with my mc 909 and the software, plug-ins I do own...but it won't be anywhere near the expectations I look for when I purchase music, and those guys have been producing for God knows how long. Maybe that's what's holding me back, who knows.
But I do know that a DJ that doesn't produce has very little if any chances of getting signed, going on tour, getting the residencies that matter, getting the exposure that matters, and making progress beyond being a 'local'. Again...my 0.02 :) |
