I had a discussion about this in a class earlier this year.
The only thing the embryo needs to grow is a site of implantation rich in vasculature. Whether or not a fetus could be brought to full-term in this matter is yet to be seen. Male pregnancy by this method was actually proposed by Austrialian scientists 20 years ago. The idea is not new, however actually going through with it (if they really are) is, and I'm suprised it was given any funding.
Up until we became more "humane" with lab animals, it was a common process to allow embryos to implant and grow to various stages on rabbit eyes. The eye is an organ extremely rich in vasculature.
I'm not sure I'd want a baby growing on my eyeball though. (Or anywhere else for that matter.) |

i think its a hoax.
The site is a mockery, there is no such real hospital and pictures and videos of the guy alledgedly carrying the baby seem doctored (just like the time cover).
There is no real explination on the site anywhere how this process is possible.
Lastly, it is hard to see how any medical ethical board would actually approve such a proceedure (despite the fact that the site claim such a board has...). |
