I have a LOT of friends, and I have VERY FEW who have the same interests as me. Take that as you will.

Alex (?), if I wanted friends who listen to trance, for example, I'd go to a trance party, I believe.

In my case, I lost touch many of my friends due to university and relationships, but it didn't keep me from befriending more people, specially those old friends who I always wanted to get to know better and never had the chance to :)

You think it's hard finding friends who like trance, how about friends who like listening to german metal/industrial that aren't nazi's, haha.

I'll trade you one of those for one that likes trance and isn't arrogant about how much more about trance he knows than you do.

i have plenty of friends, and i DID have loads that were into the same music [either hardcore or dnb] but now that i've broken off and got back into trance that number has dwinddled down to maybe 1 or 2 people that would be prepared to travel for trance events.

whereas i could name about 10+ people who i'd go to a core event with...

most of my friends are through people i've known since i was a kid, and through those people their friends from school etc. im not really close friends with anyone who was in my year at school.

What do you talk about if you have little in common?

I could care less if my friends are into the same music as me or not. What matters most is if they posess the qualities I respect and/or admire in a person. I can't be friends with someone if I strongly disagree with their beliefs and values.

^^ i agree. and the same thing goes for my boyfriend too. when i was younger and less wise, i used to gasp at the idea that i would date someone who wasn't into edm or my kind of music. but as i get older, i realize that yea, it's nice if they do, but it's not going to make or break my relationship. i mean, if i dated a guy who HATED edm, then yea, i dont know if it would work. but if i dated a guy who just wasn't really that familiar with it but had an open mind, then that's fine.

that's how my bf is now. he's not obsessed with music like i am....he likes his R&B and hip hop and rock..he's just like a "whatever" kind of guy about music and i'm fine with that. what's important is that i can trust him, i can depend on him, he has a big dick , makes me laugh, etc...you know, the important stuff.
CranberryJuice
im the only one among my friends to like EDM Its frustrating sometimes but thats not the most important cuz we share a lot of similar tastes in others fields and have a good laugh together:)
