| I have that Reason 3 Overdrive, but i would recommend u read the manual that comes with the program. You will be confused if you just read Overdrive without knowing about the program. I also wouldnt recommend Reason, the sound quality is crap. Learn Reason and all the terminology then go with Cubase SX3 or Ableton Live. |

I think I trust the words from one of the developers more then I trust peoples opinions based on pure guessings and slander from the rest of the scene...
But hey, that might just be me...
I wonder if people will ever step off the ing bandwagon and stop bashing reason for the sake of the bashing itself... |

| LOL, you can compare it yourself... before Reason 2.5 you couldnt even master a song in Reason. But it looks like your one of those reason-freaks that say you can create ANY sound with Malstrom and Subtractor.. |

reasonfreak, perhaps.
But what does mastering and me being a reasonfreak has to do with the reasonengines soundquality?
I do my mastering pure outside reason and I use both reason, cubase and live back and forth (I don't like being locked into one program)
You still haven't showed one single example of where reasons soundengine sounds worse than cubases engine.
Unless you come up with some kind of technical proof and not just speculations based on a whole scenes love to bash a program I'm gonna trust the developers more than the scene.
The expresseion "it's not what you use, it's how you use it" has never been more true than with reason. |

ok. i must say i like reason, and use it sometimes of course always rewired to cubase sx, so being able to use vst. i use mainly dr rex, subtractor and maelstrom. but i must say that some vst sound better than subtractor, for example discodsp discovery. i use almost the same settings as possible, and the sound of the vst is better, i can hear the difference. i use subtractor, but i am in the process of using it less and more top vst like discovery, z3ta. it has a fatter , more real feel to it. generally i think it sounds more professional. im not saying it from specs or features, but what i can listen to.
